Wrong Turn - Better than I thought it would be
There have been few movies out there that actually made me feel the way the older Friday the 13th or other slasher flicks did when I was younger. Wrong Turn certainly did. Even though this movie will get no recognition as a genre changer, the actors in this film did outstanding jobs. I actually gave a damn whether or not they lived or died and that takes some doing with me.
There were so many times during the movie that I got that "shhhh be quiet. They'll fscking hear you!!!" feeling and I have to say that this is one of those movies that is pushing me towards giving up my camping and hiking adventures. This was some sick stuff and for those of you who rent or buy it, make sure you stick with it when the credits roll. It's becoming a hollywood thing these days to add more footage during the credits. This is a good popcorn flick on a dark and stormy night. Is it a purchase for most people, probably not, but it IS worth a viewing if you are feeling nostalgic for the old slasher flicks that have actually become cheesy. The picture quality and sound are great, the acting is excellent and sometimes it's what you DO see that creeps you out. Anyone else seen it yet? |

I picked it up yesterday and I really didn't care for it much. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be either.
I'd been looking forward to the kills in this movie since most reviews said how creative and cool they were. That's the main reason I watched this. I love a good kill. However, the deaths in this movie were fairly tame compared to some other stuff that's out there. They weren't terribly graphic, either, which was also kind of a disappointment. Also, the story was less than original, to say the least. You could almost classify this as a remake of The Hills Have Eyes, they're that similar. Anyway, it wasn't too bad. I'll probably watch it again for the commentary, but I really wish I'd rented it.

I saw this in the theater and really enjoyed it (so did my friends). I am going to pick it up tomorrow when I go to Best Buy to get the Matrix bonus disc shiz. I thought that this was a much better "throwback" to 70's horror than House of 1,000 Corpses or
Cabin "SHIT" Fever was. But then again, there are those that completly disagree with me ![]() |

I picked this up last week & was pleasantly surprised by it. I thought it was a pretty effective horror film, with some genuinely tense moments & some decent kills. The presence of Eliza Dushku doesn't exactly harm it either...

I just saw it the other night and I, too, thought that it was a lot better than I ever thought it would be. I really only had interest in seeing it for Eliza, but I recognized most of the other actors that were in it, too. The first half of the movie really kicked some serious ass, I thought. I have seen a ton of horror movies, and I was really impressed by how creepy it actually was. The second half to the end was kind of boring in parts, though, and I really didn't like the "twist" ending. It seems like they kind of set it up for a sequal of some kind.

I bought it last week, but haven't watched it yet. I've read about people who loved it and people who didn't like it. Eliza Dushku was all I needed to push me over the edge on this purchase though. I'd buy a DVD of "Eliza Dushku Spends the Day on the Couch."

This begs the question... from all the reports I have read, commentaries I have listened to, interviews, etc., it seems Eliza is quite the wild one who doesn't mind being sexy... so why hasn't she shown us something yet!?!?! Truly a crime against the male species...

Well, I watched Wrong Turn today. Not the greatest film ever, but I found it fairly entertaining. I definitely think Eliza could be wearing less in her films! Still, I thought it was worth picking up and I'll definitely watch it multiple times. Eliza tied up? Priceless!!!
