the finger in Jurassic Park?!

just watched Jurassic Park and noticed something alarming (i went back to make sure and i swear it is there):

when Hammond is sitting there eating all the melting ice cream, right before he tells his goofy flea story, Laura Dern walks in and says, "Malcolm is okay, i just gave him a shot of morphine." and this kindly old man give her a "fuck you" with his middle finger !?!?! damn! i know that he didn't agree with The Fly and his chaos theories but that was a little harsh...
