The Third Man: British vs U.S.

The production notes for The Third Man mention that the original U.S. release was eleven minutes shorter. I assume since the voiceover in the beginning is from the British version that the DVD features the longer cut. Does anyone know what was cut from the U.S. version?

IMDB only says, "The UK version features introductory voice-over by the director Carol Reed; in the US version Joseph Cotten provides the voice-over. The UK version runs 104 minutes, versus the US version at 93 minutes." It doesn't say where the cuts were made. The DVD says they were made to make Joseph Cotten's role more sympathetic. He never seemed unsympathetic to me, so I am curious to learn what was cut.
