MAJOR problems on Toshiba DVDs
Is anyone but me experiencing "technical difficulties" with their Toshiba DVD players. When mine feels like it, it will take a vacation and go crazy on me. Some discs I've experienced errors with are:
-Boys Don't Cry In the movie, it starts skipping and glitching up ONLY sometimes during the 1st sex scene. -Tarzan At the end credits, 1/2 way thru Phil Collins song, it glitches and starts skipping. -Mariah The #1's During every video (except Heartbreaker and Hero), the video has some sort of glitch and tends to randomly skip through the video. -Bond: The World Is Not Enough The "007" disabler is only availible by the use of switching subtitles. NOTE: I keep all my DVD's in perfect conditions and these glitches only occur once in a while (not TOO bad considering I'm 17 and already own over 100 DVD's), but is it time to give in and get a new player? is anyone else experiencing technical difficulties on TOSHIBA's? ? ? HELP!!!!!!!! ![]() |

Before anyone can offer much help, you will need to provide a little more information, such as the model number of your player, how long you've had the problems (since you bought the player, or just recently), whether you have had the player serviced to get any applicable firmware upgrades, and any other significant details you can think of.

I have a Toshiba SD-3109 and I've also experienced the same problem with the new James Bond, The World is Not Enough, disc. The "Alternate Video Options" feature overlays a "OO7" gun logo on the picture at various points. When this logo appears, you press the ENTER button and are taken to a short "behind the scenes" video presentation. On my player, this feature is always ON and cannot be disabled through the given menu option. This means that, if I just want to watch the film without interruption, I still get the logo superimposed over the picture at various points (true, it's on screen for a few seconds, but I hate to have the image interrupted!) I've passed the disc around to friends and they have no trouble with it (on older players) and the feature always defaults to the OFF setting.
I appreciate the hint about the subtitle button, though, it seems to do the trick. I have had no other problems with my player, though, and it had proven itself to play other discs (i.e., The Limey) that friends players can't seem to handle. |

I knew I had seen this somewhere before. Check this previous thread for a suggested solution (I don't have the disc or player in question so I can't vouch for it personally).
