Image Entertainment & their DVD cases
This is just a thought and I'm sorry if it was discussed before.
I was looking at THE TWILIGHT ZONE yesterday and realized that Image Entertainment is using the keepcase for this series (after continuing it from Panasonic). However, all (?) their other cases are the snapper cases. I wonder why? This is not a debate about keepcases vs. snappers. Mahalo, Poidog |

I know you said this wasnt a debate of Keepcases VS Snapcases, but I need to make a point... Warner Bros needs to stop putting out movies in fricking Snapcases- Imagine the MATRIX in a laminated keep case! I noticed something similar to your Twilight Zone experience with the MADONNNA: TRUTH OR DARE film. The copy I have (along with some friends) are all snap cases, but I noticed that Best Buy now has the keep case version instead!!!! DARN-SHOULDA WAITED!

The TRUTH OR DARE situation is because the defunct Live Entertainment used to use the snapper cases but when all titles transferred to Artisan, Artisan decided to use the keepcases.
However, I cannot explain the Image decision to use keepcases, although I'm not complaining! Well ... with a keepcase, an insert is usually helpful. Why not put some liner notes or artwork in the case? There's a "holder" for it. Use it! Mahalo, Poidog [This message has been edited by Poidog (edited 05-24-2000).] |

I decided to bring this topic back based on today's (6/7/00) article "Random Acts of Packaging."
Image Entertainment's representative did not mention why THE TWILIGHT ZONE titles are in keepcases when they are not DVD-18 nor contain an insert, criteria that he mentioned for Image to use keepcases. So why is this? Just wondering ... again. Poidog |
