Pirates OTC with dts?
I just read the review for Pirates of the Caribbean in Stereophile's Guide to Home Theater. It mentions the disc having a dts track. I didn't think it was going to have one, and only dvdempire.com lists it as a feature. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I'm really excited for this disc and the addition of dts is just icing on the cake (or maybe sprinkles on an already well iced cake)!

From what ive read only in R2 its gonna have DTS. As for R1 im not entirely sure, i keep hearing unconclusive details from websites & such. Lets cross our fingers and hope that it does include DTS.

Although it wasn't in the original press release, Disney's official site's MovieFinder feature confirms the addition of a DTS track to the Region 1 release of Pirates. Don't think that because it wasn't always going to be there it isn't; Disney's press releases are usually incomplete or contain the phrase "and much more!" without defining what the "much more" is. For example, the original Sleeping Beauty SE press materials (and, indeed even the box) make no mention of the audio commentary track, but it's there.
So, to make a long story short, YES we will be getting a DTS track for the R1 release.

Well lets hope the DTS track is encluded then . I thought it was only going to be DD (EX possibly like its theatrical running) But DTS would be a welcome addition as it did sound pretty nice in my theater when it was running on DTS,

Y'know, I've always found it funny that the acronym for Dolby's answer to DTS is so sexual:
Dolby Digital Surround E X = DD-SEX. I'm always up for a bit of double-D Sex, especially with a thumping great woofer! BTW, I spent an age trying to work out what that OTC was - what a dick (oops, sorry, going back to DD-SEX again)!

This movie is listed as being theatrically shown in DTS-ES Discrete 6.1. I would love to see if this could be Disneys first title to use this format. Hopefully it will not be an unofficial matrixed 5.1 track. Can not wiat for the reviews.
