Hitchcockian feel on Modern movies

Hey every one. I love Hitchcock films and I would like to find some modern movies with that Hitchcockian feel and suspense to them. Could you guys recommend some modern movies to me that have that feel as not a lot of movies I have seen really do have that same type of suspense I get when watching a Hitchcock film. Thanks.

P.S. If this is in the wrong forum sorry.

the 6th Sense, UNbreakable, Signs... Even though critics and movie goers are split 50/50 on these movies and stories, i think they have Hitchcock influence and style. Also Minority Reprot ahs that ffel to it as well. Also Phone Booth has a simalr feel to "rear window", a very good movie!

It's not out on DVD yet, but should be soon enough:
Swimming Pool.

It has a very Hitchcockian feel to it. Defintely seek it out if you haven't already. A very good movie.

Can't say that Hitchcock ever crossed my mind while watching any of M. Night's movies though...

Another one might be:
Shallow Grave.

Blood Simple, the Coen brothers' debut film, is quite Hitchcockian.

More recently, What Lies Beneath.

Pretty much any Brian De Palma movie has that ol' Hitch feeling. Also check out John McTiernan's wonderful 1999 remake of The Thomas Crown Affair.

The first film that popped into my swollen noggin is Kenneth Branagh's Dead Again (NOT to be confused with Dead Alive... although if you get confused at the video store and take home the wrong one, just remember if the film you watching contains the line "I kick ass for the Lord," you rented Dead Alive.).

Bill Paxton's Frailty seemed very Hitch-like to me, and not once did anyone shout out "Game over, man. Game OVER!!!"

Marq suggested Shallow Grave and that one's a MUST for the Hitchy vibe. Danny Boyle at the top of his game with that one.

Dead Calm was a good edge-of-your-seater in the Hitch tradition, plus there a nice Nicole Kidman butt shot, to boot.

Last but not least in the modern mode, let's not forget Malice starring Alec "I AM God," Baldwin.

Also, even though you DID say modern, if you are looking for that Hitch feeling with some older films, two great examples would be Charade w/Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn and Arabesque with Sophia Loren and Gregory Peck. Both films are directed by Stanley Donen... pre Saturn 3.

No love for the boob shots?

Dead Calm is indeed a good one. High seas Hitchcock.

I'd forgotten he was the one who took over Saturn 3 from the then-recently-deceased John Barry, but yeah, that was a mess. Farrah Fawcett and Kirk Douglas, and a killer robot? Ohhh-kay.

Alas, Arabesque is not available on DVD. Know of any plans for its release?

Obsession is a good one, not too new though
I saw a british film called "The Criminal" that I thought was somewhat Hitchcockian (is that a word?) and its a GREAT film besides

I don't know what it was, but the Darryl Hannah intro in Kill Bill had a very eery Hitchcockian feel to it...

While I am not a big fan of the film, Identity had the cleverness of a Hitchcock film. Besides, people were dying at an offbeat motel....you can't get more Hitchcock than that.

The first half of the film was great. I just thought it was too clean of an explanation. Maybe not, I may have to see it a second time.

I think Vanilla Sky is another stretch of an example. In that film you are never quite sure what is going on.

I'd also have to say Phone Booth. I think the film was good, and I would have probably thought it was more suspensful if it had not been delayed and I had to see the same trailer for that many more months. Also releasing who played the killer in the second promo push also killed the suspense of trying to figure out who was on the other end of the line. Sure, the film could have been better with a smaller budget and less "outside" scenes, but still very suspensful.

On a personal note, while you are looking for modern films that have the feel of a Hitchcock film, never forget his actual films. Even knowing the ending, the films are still very suspensful. I just rewatched Psycho, and we all know how it ends and what is really going on, but I still found myself with my palms sweaty and hands clinched, not even realizing I was doing it.
