Smokey and the Bandit Pursuit Pack Specs

This is directly from Universal's web site.

All 3 movies on ONE disc, parts 1 and 3 are anamorphic, part 2 is not.

The original release of part 2 was anamorphic, so I guess to squeeze all three movies on one disc they had to skimp on part 2.
I'll pick this up considering the price tag is a very cheap 14.99

Sweet... looks like I'm selling my disc of the original and getting this.

Also picking up the AIRPORT: Terminal Pack.

I thought anamorphic takes less bits to store a movie, since the "black bars" are not really there on an anamorphic transfer. Am I wrong?

3 movies on one disk? Please teell me this is gonna be a DVD-14, dual layered one one side and single layered on the other. I could care less about part 3 but a remastered part 1 is great, too bad Universal isn't doing the right thing and redoing part 1 as a full blown SE

Are they serious? 3 movies in ONE disk??? Unless it's on a DVD-14,how
can these have half-way decent transfers?Well leave it up to Universal
to do something like this. Why can't they do it right and do SE's
of all 3 - and seperate?1 and 3 with anamorphic and 2 not. Can't they do
all 3 in anamorphic? In my book,Universal has quickly become one of the
worst if not THE worst as far as overall quality - especially on re-issues.

I'm a huge Burt Reynolds fan, strange as they may sound. This is just a disappointment. Can you say "compression artifacts"? Given the lengths of all 3 movies and the space on a DVD-9, this comes to an average a/v bitrate of 4.11Mbits/sec for each movie. Not too good.

Your right and wrong. They don't have the black bars (or little tiny ones on 2.35:1) but the extra lines are used for the picture. That's why anamorphic gives you higher resolution on a 16:9 display.

Outside of the possible misprinting of the Universal link, does anyone have other confirmation that this is going to be only one disc?
