National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure

This TV sequel will air on NBC December 20th. I don't want to say I am sure it will suck. But anyway, has anyone heard of it getting a DVD release? I see a few sites has an option to pre-order it. I am wondering if thats so NBC can get a count of how many interests there are to see it released on DVD. Anyway, any word will be greatly appreciated.

And it has the original Audrey, Dana Barron, who was in the first Vacation movie back in 1983.

Easily the second hottest Audrey. The one from Vegas Vacation was #1 in my book. There is a chance that this won't suck. I mean, it's not like Cousin Eddie isn't something that couldn't be performed on network TV (as long as they don't try and make a series out of it.) I'll watch, only because his bits were always my favorites in the Vacation movies.

I might watch it, but I'd be excited to watch it if it had been written by the master John Hughes. His lack of involvement disappoints me. Then again, it's written by Matty Simmons, who produced all the other Vacation films, so at least it was done by someone who knows the characters.

Are you sure Simmons wrote it? He isn't really a writer. He was the guy who started National Lampoon magazine and produced the other films.

He did write an excellent book, IF YOU DON'T BUY THIS BOOK, I'LL KILL THIS DOG all about the history of the Lampoon, the magazine and the films. Great book, but I think he had a co-writer on that.

I'm not ready to write the film off yet. I'll be watching.

And does anyone know anything about the 2000 film AMERICAN VACATION, written by Hughes that apparently went direct to cable. None of the original cast. There is a listing and a review on IMDB, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it there as a hoax, like a lot of IMDB entries.

Well, he is listed as the writer on IMDb.

Never saw that film, which is listed as American Adventure on IMDb. And John Hughes only has a characters credit for that film. I just want to see the master write another great film before he dies.

Well, Dana Barron and Anthony Micheal Hall have both agreed to appear as the Griswold kids in a theatrical "Vacation 5" movie, with Chevy and Bev.

Can't be all bad, eh?

Is there any word on a new Vacation film yet? I just checked both Chevy and Beverly's listings on IMDB and there's no mention of a new Vacation movie but I thought I heard Beverly mention someting really quick during the audio commentary on Christmas Vacation about the next vacation movie.

Well the guy is only like 53 so unless he has a heart attack or gets hit by a bus, hopefully he'll be around for a couple more decades.

Souldn't this be in the now playing forum since it is technically a tv movie. By the way I don't know if I want to see this, Entertainment Weekly gave it an F.

I'm all over the Vacation movies. Count me in for this on Sunday.

I personally would like to see Ethan Emrby and Marisol Nichols reprise their roles as the Griswold kids in another Vacation. They were by far my favorite ones.

Oh yeah. Marisol was easily the HOTTEST AUDREY EVER!!!

And Ethan Embry's storyline was the funniest bit in Vegas Vacation.

Sweet! They are making another theatrical vacation movie? That would be great. I like the kids from Vegas the best as well! Audry was super hot in Vegas.
