from Ottawa, eh? Good to see ya. Here's the main lengthy thread on the Quadrilogy we've had, in which lots of discussion/ complaining/ admiring/ picture posting/ etc was had at the packaging (especially pages 4 & 5): Alien 9 Disc Set!!! |

I not opposed to digipack, but I don't believe this is very rational. I think it's going to be a pain in the ass. A digipack like the LoTR EE doesn't bother me, but nine discs is a little too much to package like this.

I wasn't opposed to it until I found out what a digipack was. Now, I'm not too thrilled about the packaging, but I'll still buy it.
The LOTR: EEs are annoying enough and the 24 season sets are a little too much. You either have to balance the packaging on your arm like a waiter or you have to set it down on something just to open it up all the way. And it's only 6 disks.

Well here is another example of why this shouldn't have been a digipack. My buddy wanted to borrow only Alien3 so that he could watch the extended version. Well as one person suggested, I should use cd jewel cases. Well as it turns out I did not have spare cases, and since I did not want to place them in sleeves I HAD to lend the entire Quadrilogy to my buddy. Since I wasn't watching any of the movies at the time, I did not miss them. However next time If more than one person wants to watch a movie from the quadrilogy, it's gonna be a real pain.
So in short, Amaray cases would make more sense than digipack. |

ouch... sorry to hear about that dryars
me, i'm just gonna buy some new 2-cd jewel cases. it'll only be a few bucks, and the way i got it figured, it'd be worth it to just spend that little bit of extra money to keep the quad's case in good condition. |
