Anyone know of TV's "Millenium" is coming to DVD?
Think that was the name of the show- w/ lance henrikson, produced by X-Files' Chris Carter. Remember digging it when it was on

There's been no official announcement, but I know Fox mentioned it a couple of years back as one they were likely to release. Additionally, it was among the shows they polled about on their DVD site and it was getting a decent number of votes. I suspect they'll get around to it once they've completed The X-Files sets. I'd certainly buy them (though I hope they won't wind up charging X-Files prices on them).

It's generally assumed that after X-Files DVDs wrap up, that Millenium will follow. Then The Lone Gunmen and Harsh Realm (perhaps not in that order). It seems that the powers that be don't want the Chris Carter properties to come out simultaneously, perhaps because of something in their contract with him, but things can always change of course.
However, Fox won't comment on it other than "we'd like to do it". Which, of course, means nothing in the real world. ![]() |

Yeah, I've seen many reports on the internet that have said Millennium is poised to be released on DVD after The X-Files is finished. I've been patiently waiting, waiting for the day I can own the unrelentingly grim exploits of Frank Black (the profiler, not the cool ex-Pixies guy) and finally watch the last ten minutes of the final episode.
I miss Lance Henriksen--it's heartbreaking to see him listed in so many crappy direct-to-video genre schlock. Can't somebody give him a good role? I hope they don't charge X-Files-esque prices--there's a reason why I don't insist on buying my fiancée's X-Files sets (well, except for DS9). Since the series was only a modest success, I doubt we'll see the $100+ prices. ADDENDUM: Not to be rude, but as a former English major, I've found the word "millennium" to be the most misspelled word of the, uh, new millennium. ![]()

Hey Guys,
According to the Millennial Abyss web site, the holdup on releasing MM on DVD could have as much to with getting the rights to the songs that accompanied most episodes. That's a bigger factor on the second and third season that used a lot of nice tunes, including Patti Smith's "Land" in the second season finale. Not the same kind of problems as "Miami Vice." Another concern: if MM season 1 doesn't sell well, seasons 2 and 3 may not happen. And season 2 stands toe-to-toe with the best of X-Files...
