is the toy story/toy story 2 set the same as the Toy Box?

Saw the toy story/toy story 2 set at my local video store for 35 bucks...is that the same as the Toy Box, and if not, is this one OOP as well?

The regular two-pack:

The Toy Box:

Both are out of print and fetch high dollars on the secondary market. Both are worth getting and keeping/selling.

BUY IT!

Yeah, it hovers around $70 on the Amazon USED page. Get it, as right now there are no other options. When it gets re-issued, you can at least get your money back, if not make a profit if you sell in time.

In addition to the third disc on the Toy Box, the individual movie discs have a lot of extras the two-pack doesn't have. So the Toy Box rules all. Don't know about buying for profit, I buy to watch 'em. :p

For the most part, feedback is feedback. Just make sure your description is through (one that would make you want to buy it) and have a couple of pictures of your actual disc. Oh, and if you get any buyer questions, answer them right away.

Needless to say, it should sell itself just fine.

I'd say eBay, but I am kind of partial to it. There is always that mystery in that you never quite know when there will be a bidding frenzy. Word of advice, just be sure to do a little research before you set your price. It needs to be at a number that you would be happy to take if you only get one bid, but not so high that it doesn't entice other bidders. Check similar products, what they eventually sold for and what the start prices are. Also, be sure to build your costs into your S&H charge (listing fees, paypal fees if you use them, etc.) but don't get greedy. Many a person will not bid if your S&H charge is too high, no matter how good the auction looks.

Cool...thanks for your help. That same store also had the first two seasons of the X-Files for 90 bucks each sealed, but I already had those. Hopefully, there will be more bargains from their unwitting employees

Well if you see any other OOP goodies, be sure to let me know.

PS: If you have any other eBay questions, feel free to let me know. I've been a member since 1999 and have a feedback of 922.

From my ebay experience, items with no reserve that end in the evening tend to do best. And not too long an auction. Lar can probably give you more info, as my feedback is wimpy.

Great point! I tend to shy away from bidding on 'reserve auctions' myself. I think a lot of people do.

You will find that the real bidding heats up in the final hours and minutes of the auction. As a seller, I LOVE the 'cherry pickers.' As a bidder... hate them!

Just checked out matches for toy story/toy story 2 dvd on ebay, and there seem to be two versions: one where the 2 are part of a set, and one where they are just next to each other- what is the difference?

It was sold as a double-disc one box set, the 3 disc Toy Box, and as individual stand-alone discs of the movies.

Yeah, try to have your auction end during prime time especially on a weekend.

I've noticed identical items that end during these times seem to fetch the highest prices and most number of bids.

Just to get a clarification:
Is the only purpose in buying it to sell it?

And on a seperate note, is anyone REALLY thinking that this will be OOP for long?
It's the flagstaff of all of PIXAR animation, which brings in billions of dollars.
Do people really think that Disney would make their DVD's unavailable for any extended period of time?

Plus, the discs (not the Toy Box) suck as far as features go. Almost bare-bones releases.
They are RIPE for a re-release, and soon.
There is just too much demand out there.
It makes no sense for Disney to ignore demand where there is money to be made.
All they have to do is rerelease it next year (with some packaging touting the BRAND NEW, ULTRA-SPECIAL EDITION), on the heels of Finding Nemo and before The Incredibles comes out (there's an entire year with no PIXAR product being put out, when the desire for it is the highest ever), and it would fly off the shelves.

Disney makes no money on the aftermarket sales, while they could make 100's of millions with a good rerelease.

Yes, only buying it to sell it, using the $ towards other dvds, maybe the Toy Box if the price is not too outlandish.
