ID4 Missing Dialoge

This may seem insignificant to some, but there is at least one line missing from the movie. I only watched the "extended" version, so I'm not sure if it exists in the normal version or not somehow (and I only rented it - I had to take it back before I thought to check! ARG!).

When Russel is brought back from prison in the station wagon, when he gets out he says something to the effect of "Thanks, and remember... get as far away from these things as you can!"

Then he turns to his son and says "You read my mind! We have to get as far away from these things as we can!" It was in the movie, because I remember laughing at it, and I'm sure it's on the VHS & Laser Disk version. But the first "get as far away from these things as you can" is missing from this DVD. Anyone else have any info on this?

yup, you are right, i just checked my vhs and dvd copys and the one line that he says to the driver of the station wagon is cut from the extended version on the dvd, but is on the theatrical cut and the vhs. now that you mentioned it i do remeber hearing him say that in the theater, probably since i saw the movie about a dozen times.

So it's on the theatrical cut??? Go figure.

Guess the director didn't think it was funny!

Well, yeah, but only in the theatrical version apparently.
