Question about the T2 review

am I right to believe that the '3rd' cut of the film is simply the second with the 'happy' ending we have all seen?

That's what it sounds like to me. I suppose it's a nice touch to be able to play the film with that little epilogue, but I really found that footage more interesting than appropriate. I was glad it was cut for the theatrical release.

If it's the happy ending that was in the novelization that ruined (and made impossible) the original Terminator's story line, I can get by without watching it.

Sure is will be cool to have, but certainly not 'never before seen' how many people haven't seen it?

If I understand things, then the Laser Disc still contains a short scene, which the DVD does not. It is the scene where the Robert Patrick searches John's room.
