LOTR - wait for the "ultimate" set?

I've always assumed that there will be a final SE package containing all three movies. I decided to wait and see how this inevitable set will compare with the already released extended versions before I buy any of them.

How many of you have held off buying any LOTR versions in anticipation of the "Holy Grail" trilogy SE?

This will probably get shifted to the Lord Of The Rings forum.

I missed out on seeing Two Towers in the theater, so I've been buying both the regular and EE releases of each film. I would hope that New Line continues in their respect for their consumers and simply boxes up the current releases when ROTK comes out.

i bought both the theatricals and the exdedted edition

the major reason being that they are 2 different film, but also because the extras are completley different

and i imagine that if there is a new release that PJ will have enough respect for the fans, to give us new stuff (he did mention in the TTT commentary that he'd love to do a chronological editon of the films)

In 1977 a special version for television was prepared by director Francis Ford Coppola and editor Barry Malkin by joining "The Godfather" and "The Godfather, Part II", re-editing them so that the story is told in chronological order and adding some outtake footage.

Actually there's already an identical topic in Rivendell, so I'll link you all there and close this one.
