Best Buy not stocking Alien 3 & 4?

I went to Best Buy today to pick up Aliens and possibly Alien 3, but they had no copies of 3 or 4. I asked an employee to look them up in their computer, but he couldn't find them. I then looked at their web site, but again couldn't find 3 listed.

Has anyone found either Alien 3 or Resurrection at Best Buy?

It is possible that either they haven't shipped yet (although the date was to be today) or that they made VERY few of them. Even Amazon lists both 3 and Resurrection as shipping 9 - 10 days from order. DDD doesn't even list them.

I had thought that maybe they weren't being released independently at all, but then checked DVD Empire, and they have both listed as shipping immediately.

I usually prefer B&M in case there's a problem and I need to exchange, though.

Weird, though, that Best Buy's ad makes no mention of 3 or 4 at all, just the first two.

Ditto for Best Buy in St. Louis, where I grabbed 1 & 2.

i saw all 4 at my local futureshop yesterday.

but a little bit off topic, did anyone else notice the sticker on the alien resurrection that said the avp teaser was on it? i found that somewhat interesting. im wondering right now if they would have changed the menus of the dvds just so you can access it.

Best Buy - In Store and On-line...

I picked up 1 and 2 in Dallas, but they had all four for sale.

As far as BestBuy.com, if you do a title search for "Alien", 1 and 2 are the first two results, but 3 and 4 are way over on page 8 (out of 9) for some reason. Quad showed up somewhere in the middle.

I will rent 3 to see the new version (it's been years so I may find I like and want to own it) but I know that I would never load up 4, so I passed on the Quad. Haven't watched Aliens yet, but the first one looks and sounds amazing for an almost 25 year old film. Big props to the restoration team.

Here in Houston, I only noticed Alien and Aliens. I wasn't shopping for them since I bought the Quad, but thought it strange Best Buy would be sold out of 3 and Resurrection...

Well, I went to BB.com and found Alien3 on page 9 of their Alien listings (thanks for the heads up). I added it to my cart and then checked for store availability in the LA area. No stores have it in stock. So I then asked to check in all of California. No stores have it in stock.

Apparently there's no Best Buy in California that actually has Alien3 in stock.

That seems a bit absurd.

I actually found a copy at Borders, but the case was beat up and it was $25, so I passed.

Kinda chiming in late on this one...

My Best Buy had only Alien and Aliens (no A³ or Ress) and the Quad Box. There were about 15 Quad boxes and 3- copies each of Alien and Aliens.

Didn't ask regarding parts 3 and 4, so no idea. Personally I don't see any reason why the wouldn't stock all four.

I might as well chime in here as well. My college town (Chico, California, about an hour north of Sacramento) isn't exactly a bustling metropolis, but our Best Buy does a pretty good job with their selection of films. I've been plenty satisfied in the past, finding everything from small Indies like the masterful All The Real Girls to the big blockbusters without a problem. Thus, knowing about this thread, I was quite surprised when I finally picked up my own copies of Alien and Aliens today and found bothAlien 3 and Resurrection to be nowhere in site. I didn't bother to ask anyone at the store about why this was so, but it definitely seems to have become a phenomenon. Peculiar to be sure....

I was at my local Best Buy on Saturday and they had equal numbers of all 4 films, and they were all shelved together right at the front of the store on the "new releases" rack.

My Best Buy also has just the first two movies... and guess which of the two they had the more copies of. Just guess (aaauuuggghhh). And no Alien quadrilogy box either (haven't bought it yet because I'm looking to pay the least amount of money possible for it; best Buy is usually good for that sort of thing).

My local Best Buy only had Alien and Aliens. The Quadrilogy goes for $83.99 at my local Best Buy, not the best price around.

If you have a Costco membership, some are reporting that they are selling the Quad set for $41.99. Otherwise, the current best prices are online at Amazon and Digital Eyes for $69.99.
