Question about "Being There" DVD

Hi! A colleague has indicated that the "Being There" DVD release is missing some scenes he remembers seeing previously.

Does anyone know if the current "Being There" release has been edited or is some "Director's Cut" or something?

Thanks...

Peace...

Hmmm. I was quite familiar with this film before it came out on DVD,and I did not pick up on any cut scenes. Perhaps he is referring to the cut line that Sellers repeatedly could not say with a straight face that is shown under the closing credits? That's the only thing I can think of. Did he mention what happened in these scenes?

One scene he remembers is
Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
when Chauncey is approached by some guy who "flirts" with him and Chauncey tells him, "I like to watch", referring to TV of course but the guy takes it another way.

It's been SOOOOO long since I've seen the movie I vaguely remember something like this too, but I could be mistaken.

Peace....

Yeah... I remember that too, now that you mention it. I think it was at a party of some sort, but he was pulled away before anything could come of it.

DAMN!!! Now I can't remember if that IS on the DVD or not. I hate being stuck at work.

EDIT:
Oops...

It's a barebones release with an anamorphic transfer and the original mono soundtrack.

This is IMO Peter Seller's finest moment. A wonderfully understated performance.

edit: just checked and they threw the trailer on the disc as well.
