Honest Documentaries - Alien Quadrilogy

I finally got through watching the Alien Quadrilogy special features.
I have to say that all the documentaries, in particular the Alien 3 documentary were some of the most honest ones I have ever seen on a disc.
They badmouthed the movie, the people involved, etc. I was very surprised to see that the studio allowed it, in all honesty. But I am glad they did, nice to see something besides fluff and "Oh I loved working with so and so" all the time.
Has anyone else watched these yet? What did you think?
What are some other featurettes that struck you as particularly honest?

And just think, they cut so much out of the docs that the producer took his name off them. I think they were OK, but there was so much more to say. Particularly from Fincher, who I know didn't want to participate, but a lot of the footage cut was with him on the set.

You want honest? Check out the docu on the Criterion Brazil set. It's brutal.

I guess it was kinda honest. But no-one, not any of the producers, FOX heads, wanted to take and responisbility. They sad it wasn't all that great, yeah, but there were reasons why it was so and no one wanted to to say why. All in all it was very interesting and still hoping one day, some how we'll see that deleted docu footage AND get some word from Fincher about the flick. I don't blame him at all for not wanting anything to do with this. If someone F'd you over and then wanted you back without owning up to it, I'd say FU too. Oh well.

By the way - as cool as the first 3 doc's are, How boring is the fourth one? They spend like an hour talkign about the water sequence, whcih was one film about 5 minutes. Again, oh well.

There's sort of a related thread to this one here:

Alien QUAD has one of the funniest extras moment ever

It is true that the documentaries are more candid than we normally see on DVDs. The stuff that was removed from the Alien 3 doc was apparently important enough that de Lauzirika replaced his name with a pseudonym on the documentary credits. This state of affairs is regrettable but understandable...Fox is putting their name on this and I don't expect them to FULLY show what asses they might have been. Still, I prefer to emphasize what we get in the documentaries rather than what we did not get, and what we get is magnificent and fascinating. I watched each of these in the "play all" mode and was glued to the screen for three solid hours apiece.

In the case of the Resurrection documentary...there were apparently no major conflicts, which is why it is not as "juicy" as the others. I still found it more interesting than the movie though lol.

They were pretty good, much better than some I've seen but still kinda fluffly in parts in comparison to docs that have been released previously i.e. Alien Saga. But then again how many times can you hear the same story, it's not going to change all that much.

But these are still the types of docs we need more of.
