Student Bodies... one day it will be on DVD

Who else has a strange love for this movie?

I can't tell the the amount of times my friends and I have quoted from this over the years:

"Sometimes Malbert pees red."

"Wooden horse heads make me hot."

"Why does your voice sound so funny?"
"I'm disguising it by talking through a rubber chicken."

Comedy gold, people. Comedy gold. Wouldn't Blue Underground be an IDEAL company to clean this up and finally give The Breather his due with a slick DVD release?

One of my favs. Paramount knows the demand for the title and hopefully we see it this fall. Its been brought up a lot on the HTF in the Paramount polls.

Movie I always wanted to see when I was younger, but just never got to...I love 80's comedies and slashers so it's bound to appeal to me.

Yea, I love this flick, I would proudly place this in my collection. Maybe they can do a tie in release this Fall with the proposed Friday the 13th Uncut box set.

My predictions for Paramounts September "Horror" Slate:

-Friday the 13th Box Set
-Let's Scare Jessica to Death
-Student Bodies

I said that last year (minus F13TH set) but I think we might get it this year.

I hope your right and that The Sender & Looking For Mr. Goodbar are also included in the line up.

As for Student Bodies I can't wait to replace my badly worn out vhs that I bought used a long time ago. I hope Paramount uses the original 1 sheet/video release cover art.

I'm sure the poster will be used or some variation of it. To my knowledge it's the only image used for promotion and on video so no other artwork has been used. Also, I don't think any of the actors made it big so no big heads or anything like that However, they could package it in a nice wooden horse head bookend

I've asked about this before. Most people look at me like I'm stupid because they've never heard of it.

Horsehead bookends? What the hell are you going on about?

I'd like to see this and Private School ( I love you Jordan ) released on DVD. I liked these movies so much that I still watch my VHS copies (as worn out as they are now).

me too!

Maybe the reason Private School hasn't been released yet has something to do with the music rights? Jordan was hot, but I prefered Chrissy. What can I say? It's Phoebe Cates!

Was this the film where...

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
about half way thru the film a guy sitting at a desk says: R-rated movies do better at the box office and so, on behalf of the producers I'd like to say: Fuck you.

Back in the day, we were spending our precious few rental dollars on CADDYSHACK, BLUES BROTHERS, ANIMAL HOUSE, TRADING PLACES, RAW, and the like. Outside of FACES OF DEATH, not a whole lot of horror tricked into our basement after being burned by shit like DEADLY FRIEND.

The movie was beat to death on cable as well. Especially on "Up All Night" I can't remember how many times I saw it on cable.

One of the few details that I remember vividly from that film. I'll admit, the scene did get a roar from us... but that was the only bright spot.

Relive the joy HERE.

I would love to get a copy of this. I was actually just thinking about it last week when I ran accross my VHS copy (taped off HBO, I think) while unpacking from my latest move.

And Palmerlime, the first thing I thought of when I saw this topic was, "Sometimes Malvert pees red."

STUDENT BODIES being a Paramount title, don't hold your breath. I think they still have 90% of their library not out on DVD yet so this is just another one gathering dust on their shelves (although it did play cable last week).

As for PRIVATE SCHOOL, every airing is different as far as the music goes so I don't think the music is the problem, it has already been changed. The VHS, pay cable and regular cable all have different music. Some don't even have the theme song (" Daddy must have been a fool, to send me to a Priiiiiiiiiivate schooooooool...for girls"). Plus, the cable airing, like a lot of other Universal titles, has a lot of extended scenes. The scene where Betsy Russell is dancing around in her underwear in front of Matthew Modine (dressed as a girl) is twice as long in the edited version.
