Mystic River at the Golden Globes

ROTK has won the best "Picture - Drama" golden globe award over Mystic River.

In my opinion, this was a bonus award for ROTK. I think Mystic River should have won this category by far... I mean I almost felt asleep during the last 30 mins of ROTK... I loved the movie, but when it comes to drama, hello!!? It's like they haven't watched the end of Mystic River!

What do you think?

i thought mystic river was better. i think they are giving ROTK awards and probably the oscar not for ROTK but like a bookend for the entire trilogy. they aren't looking at ROTK as a specific film which probably isn't fair, and i'm not saying it's a bad film at all. but i think mystic river probably deserved the golden globe for best drama and the oscar this year out of the ones nominated for best picture should go to either mystic river or lost in translation.

Alas, Mystic River (or ROTK) isn't on DVD yet, so I imagine this belongs in "Now Playing".

On topic, of the nominated films in that category, I did prefer "Mystic River", but have never seen ROTK.

Why the questioning of the award 2 weeks after broadcast?

I thought Mystic River was the best movie last year by far (and yes I've seen all of the best picture nominees and a number of others). Here's hoping the academy gets it right for once (although they rarely do)

I haven't seen the movie, but some of the other nominees I really did like.

Well this isn't really for the Software Forum and more suited for the Now Playing/Oscar Forum.

We currently have a thread for Best Picture for the 2004 Oscars. I think your comments are well suited for the thread as you explain why you voted for them and not LOTR.

So instead of moving i shall close the thread and ask everyone to explain and vote for their fav movie of 2003 in the thread above. Refer back to the Golden Globes for comparison if you like.

Thanks
SilentBob
