Man I just picked this up!
The Rain Man case just oozes class. I bought mine at Costco and the long box it comes in is pretty stylish too. I may actually keep it as well! Can't wait to get home to watch it!

This is one of my wife's favorite movies, and I'll be picking it up for her tonight for her birthday. Can't wait to see it again.

Hey Noto, how much did you pay for Rain Man at Costco? I saw it at Wal-Mart today for 11 bucks but I want to make sure I don't buy it at one place and then find it cheaper somewhere else. It's happened to me before.

I picked this up yesterday - was looking forward to it for years since the earlier release wasn't considered that great. Popped it into my DVD player (Sony DVP NS300) and no go - the player said there was no disc. This is the first time ever that the player has had a problem playing a disc - I played others after that and they all worked fine. I even popped the disc into my computer's DVD-ROM drive and it also couldn't do anything - after several attempts at reading the disc I would get an "Insert Disc into Drive H:" message...
Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem...

no insert in mine either. Haven't tried playing it, Flash. You may want to start a thread in the Glitch Exhaust, to get more insight.

Well I went to exchange the defective disc - got a replacement and decided that I should have it checked out before I walk out of the store - so the salesperson tries it on 3 different DVD players (Sony, Toshiba, and RCA) and none of them could make the movie play...in the end I got my money back but I'd like to find out if anyone else has tried playing the movie to see if it has any problems...

MGM released the RC 2 version today (at least here in Germany). And strangely enough, 2 of the 3 commentaries are omitted (Ronald Bass and Barry Morrow's), but the disc features two documenaries which are not on the US disc: 'The Journey of Rain Man' including interviews with Levinson, Morrow & Bass, actress Valeria Golino and producer Mark Johnson on the making of the film and 'Lifting The Fog: A Look At The Mysteries Of Autism'. The docs are about 20 minutes each and "Region 2 exclusive!"
What's up with that??
