Wow... I wonder what the extra footage will be. Depending on what the extra footage is, I might double-dip on this one.
 Hopefully, the extra footage is not in any of the 'interesting' scenes.  Peace...

I've almost picked this up a few times for $5 at Wal-Mart. Glad I waited. I will probably pick it up now, just to see what the deal is.

Could it be? I know I'm just speculating, but will we finally get to see some shots of Neve Campbell that are not from behind?

I might pick this up, depending on whether or not the "unrated" material is really noticeable. This recent rash of both rated and unrated versions is interesting -- I mean, I noticed no difference in the two versions of Old School, expect for the topless menus. I like this movie a lot, but I'm not going to double dip for two more seconds of Denise Richards boobs or another look at Kevin Bacon's dick. I think the movie is so much better than the titillating reputation it has.

There were more than just menu differences between the rated and unrated versions of "Old School".
But nowadays "unrated" isn't as gratuitus as most would like. Look at other unrated re-releases such as Road Trip and American Pie. The extra content isn't always enough to get your pannies in a bunch over. Now if the added footage is worth it, plus the extra features are there, then this is a good double dip. -Flash PS I wouldn't count on any Neve nudity.

The only thing that would get me to double-dip on this title would be full-frontal Neve nudity (or at least some titty), and since that ain't gonna happen, I'll pass.
 It's a fun little thriller, but not worth buying again for 30 seconds of extra Denise Richards skin and more of Kevin's Bacon.

I wouldn't upgrade to an Unrated Version of Wild Things. Whatever they added to the movie would not change the elements that make it an enjoyable movie for me. If the new scenes sound worthy of watching once, I'll give it a rent.

I always thought the film was such a tease in the R rated version. It seemed to want to 'be' an exploitation daring fun movie,but treaded a safe line regarding the sexual content which made it disapointing to myself(though Bill Murray ruled!).
Yet if the unrated version actually shows more of what the R version hinted at(No 5 second threesome!). I would be all over this. |

The Wild Things DVD has been one of the discs that I've always thought about picking up, but just never done it. I'd buy the Unrated version if the price was comparable, and the new materials were pretty good.

I may be off-base with this one, but I noticed a minor trend with Columbia after seeing this thread. They recently released both "the New Guy" and "the Animal" in unrated special or direcor's cut editions. Now they are going to do the same with "Wild Things" (and who knows how many more titles). From what I read about the additions to "the New Guy", they were fairly insignificant. Since the new cut was never reviewed by the Ratings Board it would be "Unrated" merely because content was added back in, but not necessarily due to the content itself. I am guessing they are doing the same thing with these other movies and using "Unrated" as a marketing ploy to increase interest. So, while I liked "Wild Things" quite a bit, I am not too hopeful that this new edition will be significantly different than the old one. I hope I'm wrong.

Honestly, I am just thankful that there is nothing there that would make me want to double dip. I'm beginning to enjoy these mediocre "special editions" and re-releases.
