trying to remember the name of a movie... anyone know?

I remember watching this movie as a kid (i'm 22 now). I'm sure the movie isn't very good, but I'd like to see it again anyway....

The movie involves a guy who is about to get married, but leaves to go pick up a car - an italian exotic (lamorghini I think). He sits to pick out all of his options and gets it completely loaded except for insurance or something...??? Anyway he get's the car, and something happens to it and he and a mechanic and a girl break in to steal a new car or parts?

there is also a trippy part in which he eats at a diner and a guy says don't eat the special, but he does and has crazy dreams all night.

I know this is crazy, but I would really appreciate it if I could see this movie one more time!

Thanks

oh man, i actually remember this movie - especially the scene where the guy is picking out the interior options (digital or analog display, etc). The cute sales girl ends up being a major character in the movie...I'll see if my brain can decipher the title of the movie - but it was definitely late 80's, or extreme early 90's...

yeah man!

I hope you can remember. I've used multiple searches and I can't seem to think at all.

He sits in a chair and blasts through options picking everything like it's a video game. The cute (as a kid - god i thought she was hot) sales girl and him stop at warrenty or insurance and both go "nah...."

I'd love to just see that movie one more time.... I do hope you can remember.

I never saw License To Drive, but the plot summary over at imdb.com would lead me to believe this is defintiely not the right movie.

Oh, and the hot girl in License To Drive was Heather Graham. In two words:
Mee
Yow

Not License to Drive, but I do remember this movie I think. Not sure what the title is though.

The flick is It Takes Two with George Newbern, Leslie Hope and Anthony Geary. It's from 1988 and I think the ride is a Countach...

The saleschick was named Jonni Tigersmith (WTF?) and this flick was written by the same guys that penned Three O' Clock High...

hope this helps...

I think you have described "Mystery Date" starring Ethan Hawke and Teri Polo. Came out in 1991.

I beleive this is the same film I've been trying to recall the name for. Later on in the film on the way home from the car lot the guy shows off his new car for the people car next to him, and then the car starts
Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
falling apart?
Am I correct?
