I wouldn't bother with the Best Sessions collection. Go for collecting the entire series. There isn't a bad episode in the batch and if you don't watch them all you'll miss the series wide story arc.

I agree with Surf. The Best Sessions jump around between episodes so you will miss out. The first disc (Director's choice) contains episode 1, 5, and 19. The second disc (Fan Favs) has episodes 8, 17, and 24. You would be better served watching them in order. Besides you can watch it on Cartoon Network if you need something to hold you over.

Another thing you want to consider is that watching the episodes out of sequence may not be the best idea. I don't know exactly how much the "Best Sessions" is but I would get the first 2 discs instead.

MiddleEarthGirl,

I have to agree with everyone that has piped in here already. Start collecting the entire series since there really is not a bad episode in the bunch. Starting with the first disc or two is the way to go.

I know because I bought the Perfect Sessions and basicly got hooked. Ended up buying the entire series on Amazon and on rewatching it, realized how much I missed.

Cowboy Bebop is one of the best anime series ever released. It is worth owning the entire set, even if you have to get it a disc at a time.

Eh I still like my box better

Makes it very nice looking with the entire set, and it holds Knockin on Heavens Door too!

BTW Knockin would be something good to get if you arent ready to get the entire series...

Bandai was only able to get a license for a certain number of units. Them's the breaks unfortunately.

As Sycowulf says, don't forget the Bebop Movie also. When I first got into Bebop, I bought the 1st disc, and then soon found out after that the Cartoon Network would be airing it. I enjoyed the entire series, but hadn't picked up the remainder of the discs.

When the movie came out, I fell in love with all of the characters all over again, and then promptly picked up the remaining 5 discs as soon as I saw a good sale price.

If you are a Bebop fan and haven't seen Knockin on Heaven's Doors yet, it is a definitely recommended blind buy.

I agree, though I think it's the weakest story of the batch. Something about the longer format just didn't come together for me. It could have used tighter editing or a more cohesive story. That said it's still an excellent addition to the Cowboy Bebop family and no fan should be without it.

There are no Cowboy Bebop complete or "Best Sessions" sets currently in print in any region
