Buffy season one extras: spoiler-free?

Okay, I'm almost through with my recent blind-buy of the first season of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and I'm liking what I'm seeing (enough to want to continue onto the later seasons), but here's the question: is it safe to watch the extra features, or do they spoil plot points for future seasons? Please use spoiler boxes when going into specifics, thanks.

As I recall, they spoil the CURRENT season. So wait till you are done with the season first before going into the extras

The Buffy box sets are rife with spoilers. Even the menu screens (especially seasons 3 & 4) are spolier filled. Skip the extras until you've seen all the shows.

That's a fine point that I didn't hit in my post. None of the sets spoil anything buy the season that they cover.

Actually, that's not really true. If it's your first time through the show I would avoid any commentary done by Jane Espenson, as she has on her tracks made reference to future season plot points. Just things like "oh, in season 5, such-and-such happened to this' or whatever during a commentary for the third or fourth season. I've seen every season multiple times so it doesn't bother me, but I would think that it would be a major annoyance for someone just getting into the show.

Yeah, avoid any commentaries and you should be OK.

Oh yeah. Welcome to the Buffyverse!

I'd agree with everything said so far. Wait until your more seasons into it for the commentaries.
