I still don't have a GoodFellas SE but I can get a Showgirls.

Proof positive, there is no God ladies and gentlemen.

This better be true!

Since I would love to get rid of my non-16.9 dvd asap. But I will wait until further notice just in case.

People should stop ripping on the film. It is a camp classic. I can't believe some were actually expecting a 'serious' film from the scathing reviews this gets. Well jokes on you

Showgirls SE and Star Wars Trilogy this year ?

There is a God. Because my prayers have just been answered.

Now all I need (well, not all I need) is a sooper-dooper edition of Flash Gordon and I am all set.

Thanks for the heads up.

By those guys who made Basic Instinct, but Showgirls is bad as it has no meaning and the lead actress has no screen charisma. Nevertheless, why do people watch reality TV?

I wouldn't toss out the old disc if the new one doesn't have the dirty parts Easter Egg:

Quote:
Best of scenes:
Select the "Chapter Selections" option at the main menu. Select "Chapters 9-12". Press 17 to select a small hidden button at the top left corner. Select "Chapters 21-24" and press 17. Select "Chapters 33-36" and press 17. Select "Chapters 33-36", then play the chapter that contains the ending credits. Press Forward to advance to the end. Wait for the MGM logo to disappear and the Showgirls copyright screen to appear. Press 2 to view a loop of sequences from the movie, featuring the best sexy moments.

I'll have to check that egg out.

I hope they do something like they did with Basic Instinct. Put a feature on there showing scenes from the broadcast TV version. Complete with digital bras!

If there were ever two movies that have no value on broadcast TV, it would be Showgirls and Basic Instinct.

People can make fun of this, but i think that tis pretty kool. DO i LOVE showgirls, no. Was it a total bomb, well, no. It didnt cost that much, about 40 mil, which by most of you know, isnt THAT much, and for an nc17 film, it did pretty well in the USA, and did better overseas, after home video sales, which were GREAT, id made back all of its money and, dare i say, a profit! Plus, ever paul vorh. film has na audio comm but this one, so i hope this will have one so he will be the first director to have an audio comm on ALL of his films, and i know this man has his fans on this board!

Me too. Haven't bought the DVD that was out there. I preferred my LD mostly because the art was the original poster...and didn't have Berkley's face cut and pasted on.

I'm so looking forward to this. I hope it contains lots of stuff re: the reaction and about the cult screenings that have arisen from it.

I'm actually leaving for Vegas in a few hours for my spring break.

Unlike the other two, Striptease still makes sense with a the few minor edits of the nudity. With the other two, they actually have to blur or use digital tricks because the movie makes no sense if you cut much of the objectional material.

Who needs to see those Willis funded funded fun bags anyway.

The only edit Showgirls needs is getting rid of the flashing done by Henrietta Bazoom. :p

Speaking of Verhoven, he recycles a lot of actors. Though that's a tad too off-topic for this thread.

This would have been sweet.......

(from the IMDB) :

"The filmmakers wanted 'Madonna' to play Cristal Conners and Drew Barrymore to play Nomi Malone"

Madonna would have ruined Showgirls.

Drew couldn't be Naomi. Why? You heard Tony Moss: "Hon, this is a show, not a patch, get out of here."

Though I would have been OK with Drew in it, just not Madonna.

Madonna ruined a Bond film.

Madonna was in these movies that IMHO are pretty good:

* A League of Their Own
* Desperately Seeking Susan

Madonna was in a must-see Guy Ritchie "The Hire" short film called "Star".

Films ruined by Madonna:

* Body of Evidence
* Dick Tracy
* Die Another Day
* Truth or Dare
* The Next Best Thing

Films starring Madonna that I have not seen:

* Vision Quest
* Shanghai Surprise
* Four Rooms
* Bloodhounds of Broadway
* Blue in the Face
* Dangerous Game
* Shadows and Fog
* Evita (She won Golden Globe for Best Actress)

Madonna didn't "ruin" "Die Another Day." She was in it for all of one scene. Her theme song, that was crap, but could hardly be said to have ruined the movie, either.

I agree, the bad effects, over-the-top action, bad dialogue, horrible villian, and Halle Berry ruined that movie... Madonna just played a part. (And the song wasn't near as bad as some others, such as "The Man with the Golden Gun" or "License to Kill").

Cool, I'll get this. The movie is not that great but I mean ALL the lines in the movie are so corny I just couldnt help but laugh my ass off through-out the whole movie. Plus the nudity aint bad.

Damn good thing she wasn't in it then. Otherwise, it might not be the incredible epic it certainly turned out to be.
