Brain Teaser for the hell of it, Can you figure it out?

Three men walk into a hotel to rent a room for the night.
The desk clerk informs the men that he has only one room left, that costs
$30 a night.
The three men decided to share the room and each agree to pay $10 a person.
The three men gather their belongings and are shown to their room by the
bellhop.

A few minutes later the desk clerk realizes that he should have charge the
men only $25 for the room.
He gives the bellhop $5 dollars and tells him to give it back to the three
men.
On the way to the room the bellhop can't figure out an easy way to divide
the money equally among the three men,
so he decides to give each of the three men only $1 back and keep $2 for
himself as an added tip.

The three men are happy to pay less, since now in their mind the room only
cost $27 a night ($9 a person x 3 men)
But including the $2 "extra" tip for the bellhop that only brings the total
cost to $29. (9x3+2= 29)
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MISSING $1.00 ???!!!!!!
