I know back when the JP covers were released that everyone thought they'd change 'em before final release just because they sucked so much. I was actually surprised when I saw reviews posted with that same awful artwork. Well, that jpeg (from an r2 insert posted a while back) shows much better looking covers, so maybe they just didn't want review copies being sold as the real thing.

And it shows BTTF in January 2001. I knew I had read that somewhere, but bttf.com keeps saying end of this year. Those poor, misguided fools. Tho' I can be lumped in with them if I actually believe they'll be out in January, either.

This is from a region 2 release, remember. They do stuff differently. Look at Bicentennial Man and Guns of Navarone. Those covers are different.

My guess is they just didn't know what artwork to put on there for the JPs, so they used the VHS covers. That's what they look like. The Lost World packaging even has the stupid hologram on it. Yeah, that's the VHS packaging, not DVD.

It's too bad. As plain as they are, those covers are WAY better than the crap ones we're getting in Region 1.
