I wonder if there's a walkthru for the NM Encyclopedia maze somewhere on the net.

It's fun to solve the first time, but a pain in the rear end if you want to check out something on it.

Sorry, can't remember how to get thru the door...

i had been thinking of posting this exact topic for a while now. there are some areas where i am sure there are extras, but i cannot figure out how to access them.
for the fire door dont worry about clicking on any of the diamond shapes, just enter '20' and hit enter and that should take you to the alternate ending or whatever is behind the door.
check out www.dvdreview.com in the Hidden Features section for more info on the Nightmare disc.
does anyone know if there is anything to access at the spot with the televisions?

Ah yes, the televisions. I remember now that I was giving up on them frustrated back when I was examining the disc.
Glad to see that I wasn't the only one

The televisions are trailers for each of the series, in anamorphic widescreen!

There are a couple of batteries (or something like that) in the morgue.

When you first enter, press 'left', which should get you to a kind of bell thing and something else which accesses a video clip. When you've picked up the whatever-it-is, you'll be able to access trailers for every one in the series!

the mystery "thing" for the television is a remote control. It has the numbers 1-7 to select for each of the trailers at the TVs. There was a map on either horrordvds.com or dvdnightmare.com but I can't find it anymore and they couldn't get past it either. I read it after I had seen all I could and I'd seen it all except I still can't figure out how to pass the damn door. But what made me mad was that I have a copy of the VHS two-tape special edition that was released at the same time as the Elite laserdisc and tape two (so I would imagine the laserdisc too) has tons of alternate takes and outtakes and FX tests and TV spots and trailers that the Nightmare Encyclopedia does not. You know on the Nightmare 1 commentary where Heather Langenkamp starts laughing about the line about finding the "Booby Traps and Anti-personel Devices" book at a "great survivalist bookstore" and then the line is not in the film. That take is one the VHS as is one where Nancy's mom tells her about Fred Krueger in the basement we learn that Nancy had an older sibling killed by Freddy and so did Glen! We also see tests of Glen RISING UP FROM THE BED after being consumed. There's actually a lot missing from the Encyclopedia and that is the only thing that mars this terrific box set!

By the way, does everyone else's 3D segment on Freddy's Dead work or no? Mine does not? Do I need a bigger screen than 30 inches or what?

Helengod,

Believe it or not, I wrote the net's only FAQ on this disc. I also created a map of the Labyrinth. Find them here:

nsefaq.txt
nsemap.tif

Unfortunately, yours is the only question I still have yet to answer about this cool DVD...

if you have your TV and lighting in your room set EXACTLY perfect the 3D segment looks OK at best, but it isnt really anything special.
