Edward Scissorhands sound glitch... Please help...
I just bought the Edward DVD and I noticed some strange noise near the beginning of the movie.
Right after Pegs (Avon lady) leaves Helen's house (the fat lady who says she never buys anything), when we see the front lawn of the "Horny lady" talking to the "Dishwasher repair guy", there's a bit of static for a few seconds. The problem occurs on both English tracks (4.0 and 2.0) but not on the French one so I suppose it might just be a problem with the original English vocal recording. However, would you please check just to be sure it's not just my DVD which has a problem? Thanks for the help. |

Hi Ainner
I checked for any additional noise elements where you indicated the problem was, and I am not picking up any static in that scene just birds chirping. I did hear some background noise that sounded like someone pounding on something metal outside at time frame Title 1 Chapter 3 time 1 min. 30 sec. It could be Peg knocking before she rang the doorbell, and then there is another brief wrapping at 1 min. 49 sec., but that is all I could pick up as far as background noise. |

Hum ok, the exact sound "Bug" occurs on the vocal track while the diskwasher guy is talking to the women. It begin when he start speaking and stop while the camera is filming in the house.
Also, I realized that the english subtitle were not synchonize in the first 5 minutes of the film... I never experienced such things before and my dvd player (panasonic rv-30) is playing everything perfectly. |

I hope I understood you correctly. This is the scene I thought you were referring to:
At chapter 3 time (from the start of chapter 3) 1 min. 3 sec the dishwasher guy says, “Uhmmm you didn’t have to call me ma’am. You could have taken care of this by yourself.” There’s no static with the vocal. My player is a Sony DVP-S550D. |

Well I decided to try Edward Scissorhands on my computer DVD-ROM just now. It has the static were you said it was (the same scene mentioned above). My Sony didn’t have it, but my Samsung DVD-ROM did. Sorry, I should have thought to try it on both earlier. Hope that helps.

Thx for checking I'm real happy to know that this is happening on others players... I checked on my friend Dvd and it played right. Does anybody else have this problem ? This is really strange but I think that there's nothing that I can do about it...

I haven't bought the movie yet but I had a similar problem with the movie "Britannic". There was about a 1 minute sound dropout in the intro segments with my Toshiba unit but played fine on my Sony DVD-CD-ROM. Must be differences in the optical pickups?
