Sony DCE announcement: Dual layer DVDs to molder after eight years!

Well thank you very much crooks, this makes my day.

Single layer discs are not affected and "only" an estimated 80% of all dual layer discs (from ALL authoring houses) produced since 1998 will "molder" after 8 to 10 years. "Molder", pussies are not man enough to use "rot" in their article

So this in effect means goodbye to all your dual layer discs starting in the year 2006.

This "new" discovery of course goes coincidentally hand in hand with this weeks announcement from Columbia TriStar/Sony to go Hi-Def via Blu-ray by the end of 2005.

I certainly hope so otherwise I get to watch more then three hundred movies deteriorate right in front of my eyes which will be very sad.
Hell I still have VHS tapes that are older then that, that can still be watched.
