A Murder of Crows ***

I received this movie today from Amazon by a friend's recommendation. I was expecting the Widescreen SE that was advertised but instead got the barebones Full-Screen version. Has anyone encounted this problem with Amazon before or is the FS version the only one in print? Thanks.

When I was looking for this a couple of years ago (it's a pretty decent flick), I remember discovering there were two versions of this movie released, a movie-only disc and an SE. The SE I have is from Sterling and has the Millenium Edition banner and has a bunch of extras on it. It's definitely widescreen (non-anamorphic though) and is the version that Amazon is showing on their site. I can't seem to find any info on the movie-only disc except over at Half.com, but it seems that the release date for it is a year after the SE was released, so maybe a new distributor got it and hacked it up for their release. Here are the Half links so you can see if the cover is the same as yours

Movie only version

SE version widescreen

Thanks for the imput. The version I received did not have either boxxart. It had the back and white cover but without the SE banner. Strange.

I contacted Amazon and supposedly I received the wrong version. It should arrive early next week. I have my doubts though about the availability of the SE, as the version I received was distributed by Lion's Gate, a major studio, and the SE is distributed by a much small studio a longer time ago. More likely to be OOP.

Yep, the SE came from a company called Sterling, which I imagine may be gone, since I know at least one of their titles I already own (Drew Barrymore's Guncrazy) is being re-released by another studio in a couple of months.
