here's a chance to speak up for a DTS track and all kinds of goodies

click me.

it's extensive enough to tell them what you REALLY want. so fire away.

I went for it, just to tell them how worthless this "new" reissue is and to emphasize which special features I found important.

I couldn't find an option for 1.0 Mono with a P&S picture.

I was very happy to be able to tell them that I am not interested in the least to buy this pathetic excuse of a deluxe edition.

For the "list 5 gift items you'd like to see included with the DVD" part of the survey, I listed just one:

A personally signed statement from the CEO of Sony saying that this DVD will not be superceded in 2 months by a "Superbit Ultra-Deluxe Edition"

For list of cool goodies, I put down:

CD Soundtrack
Bonus DVD
Mail-in certificate for an authentic theatrical one-sheet
Autographs from cast and/or crew

I just took it, too. Pretty sure that I'm not buying the new deluxe DVD of the first movie, but I will keep the option of a gift set of the second movie open.

That is a good one!

I filled it out. None of the items they were suggesting for the gift set really interested me except maybe the artist illustration book. I was pretty general about items to include in the gift set: REBATE for those who end up buying the 3 disc Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 Gift Set; Extra disc not included in the regular Spidey 2 DVD; collectible packaging; a Sideshow figure of Spider-Man.

I made it known how much I like DTS and any extra scenes, deleted scenes, extended scenes. None of those games though.

Would you please tell us why don't own a copy of the original 2002 SPIDER-MAN movie on DVD?

I think the photocopy of the working script w/Sam Raimi's handwritten notes could be a cool feature. Also, I specified better commentary tracks (the existing one's are real snoozers), and by all means a DTS option.

BTW, I'm in agreement w/others in this thread..I won't be double dipping on the current release.

I told them it would be kinda neat to include a small piece of webbing from the movie.

That reminds me, does anyone know if the online commentary with Toby Maguire will be on the Deluxe Edition DVD? I didn't have DVD-rom at the time that was premiered, and I was pretty interested in hearing it.

I would suspect much of it is CG, but nice thought though.

That's kind of similiar to what I said when I told them I wanted "a bit of Tobey Maguire's soul".

Cool survey! I was sure to vote for DD or dts audio as well as voting for extended editions and extra footage not shown theatrically. I also voted "not interested" in just about all the other "stuff" comprising the gift set.

Peace...

They actually did make some of the webbing as practical effects...like in the lunchroom scene where he accidentally shot the webbing at the lunch tray.

I just put that I didn't want any of the crappy items, just long-form serious documentaries shot by real producers like JM Kenny and David Prior.

There were 3. Wide, P&S, and the giftset. How hard was it really to choose between them?

Apparently, it's much harder for some than you would think.

Actually, I'm glad I haven't been reading the "I bought the wrong version" posts like I used to read quite frequently.

Peace...
