I remember wishing at one point that Warner number their 2-Disc sets for collecting purposes... now, I am so very glad they didn't.

Fuck yeah! The movie which made me want to dress all dark like Keifer when I was in High School! Could this be considered a "cult" film?

Is it okay to cry now? I really might. The Lost Boys has been my favorite movie since I was about 13. I've written over 10 fanfictions based on it (four of which are published at fanfiction.net), have the book, two t-shirts, two posters, framed pictures, etc. I also have the music video taped off VH1 Classic (it's very cool), which I actually requested myself. This is basically a dream come true for me. I hope the deleted scenes live up to my expectations. And at this point, price is no object for me when it comes to this movie.

edit: I know this SE is coming out, but I can't find these specs at any other website, so I'm gonna hold off on my excitement for now.

NICE!!!! So glad I held out! I almost caved a few times at Circuit City when I saw it on sale for $8.99. I just kept telling myself, "They gotta make an SE out of this." Can't wait to pick it up.

I just saw that they have all the info now at the DVDFile main page. Weird thing though is that instead of the Lost in the Shadows video it has the Good Times video (the song by INXS) listed. I've never seen that one, so I can't comment on it, but the Lost in the Shadows one is completely Lost Boys and seems like the "official" movie video. And I forgot to add this before, but I am so pumped to hear the Coreys and Jamison do a commentary. If only they could've gotten Brooke McCarter, Alex Winter, and Billy Wirth (the other three Lost Boys) to do one. That would've been wicked cool.

Warner isn't listening to anyone. They simply don't release multiple disc movies in snappers. It's been that way for years now. But that won't stop people from predicting the end of the snapper like they have with every other 2 disc set released in a keep case.

I'll probably pick this up because it's always seeing Santa Cruz in films. lol, why do i care so much, because i'm living there right now.

If you watch Sudden Impact, the dirty harry movie, you can see downtown Santa Cruz in it's pristine form before the earthquake of 89.

But either way, glad there's an SE coming out.

I cannot wait for this. It's one of those movies you always remember as being cooler or better than it actually is, but I fall for it every time. Truth is, I've always hated the geeky Corey kid/Dianne Wiest portions of the movie, which seem like they're out of some EXPLORERS-GOONIES style kiddie flick. Since the movie was an R-Rated horror flick, I never got why that angle was necessary. It could have rocked harder if Schumacher had stuck to the Patric/Gertz/Sutherland stuff. Still, tons of classic Schumacher style, not to mention the unbelievably cheesy party scene at the beginning where all the bad-ass goth vampire kids are rocking out to.....a greased, shirtless bodybuilder playing a saxophone! Hardcore!

I'm looking forward to this disc too. This film is my all time favorite vampire movie. Its great to finally see it getting a "much due" Special Edition treatment. Has anyone out there read any reviews of this set yet?

Thanks

"The 2 Coreys" made an appearance at the San Diego Comic Convention this weekend to promote Lost Boys: SE ... they were both pretty funny. They also showed a couple snippets of their commentaries (taped separately it appears), Corey Feldman was classic, doing a lot of rips on the outfits and hair styles etc while Corey Haim's commentary seemed more on the informational side. Anyways, I found it very entertaining and I'm not even that big of a Lost Boy fan ... you fanboys should love it.

Yes it does. On the second disc:
Quote:
But wait, we even get the Multi-Angle Featurette, which is a 19-minute compendium of all of their big scenes, with multi-angel video commentary by Haim, Feldman and Newlander (who, sixteen years on, is virtually unrecognizable). This might be inconsequential to even big Lost Boys fans, although we do get such classic insights like this one from Haim, on the film's visual style: "Like, nature is green and this is all red and, like, it all coincides with each other." Heavy.

Wow, judging from the DVDFile review this is a bad horror movie and not scary at all...

SO since when was The Lost Boys supposed to be a scary horror movie? Was Sixteen Candles a failure as a coming of age drama? Was Buckaroo Banzai unconvincing sci-fi with bad special effects? Was Johnny Dangerously a gangster movie which never developed any dramatic tension?

I don't know yet if I will upgrade or not. It has the exact same 5.1 audio, and I hear the picture is not that improved. I love this film, it's horror, comedy, suspence, hell just a good time. I'm lost in the shadows.
