Law & Order Season 2

Picked this up today for $40... sweet! It has to be the shoddiest packaging ever... not sweet!

In any event, the sound and picture look good, and even though the quality is much lower, the packaging at least matches... yay!

Anyone else pick this up?

I will probably get it here in the near future, if not for me, then to ship to mi madre. I love the show, however I wish the season sets would come out at a quicker pace. Without Lenny or Jack McCoy, the show lacks a certain something. That and Angie Harmon. Angie Harmon.

Too bad Jerry Orbach is going to leave the flagship and start up a new series with guest appearences.

Actually I think the series is missing something without Chris Noth... so the early years are great for me. As for quicker pace, I agree... especially with most of the other series I collect ending soon.

How many discs?

How many discs is the set? The first season set was 6 discs, and so I was surprised to see that online merchants listed the second season as 3 discs... I've been wondering how they could reduce the number of discs without reducing the quality of the picture.

I think they are DVD-18s, like ER sets and West Wing.

They are flippers, but since they're TV shows and not movies (which means no interruptions during the feature to flip) it doesn't bother me.

That said, I would have preffered to pay $20 more and got a set as nice as season 1... but oh well.

It's hard to complain when you get 22 episodes of Law & Order from it's prime (IMO), a good documentary, and a booklet, all for $40...
