Ah, good old reliable Scorsese commentaries,
I guess all these are new commentaries for DVD,
which is absolutely fantastic.

Now if we can get Taxi Driver and Raging Bull commentaries
from the Criterion vault, life would be most sweet.....

Oh, good gracious. My year has just been made with this (finally) official announcement. This box set should be the finest around since the remastered Kubrick one.
The saving has started.

You won't regret it, I know I'll get flamed but IMO it blows both Godfather 1 & 2 out of the water.

PS It contains cussing, lots of it

Well I don't want to turn this into a comparison thread but other then the mafia theme, they are very different movies.
Both excellent movies, but different movies.

And due to this mistake in Warner's press release (or DVDAnswer's misreading of it), the DVD must be junk and entirely eye-rollin' worthy.

Great Movie! Unfortunately the dumb Motion Picture Academy thought that Dances With Wolves was better and that Kevin Costner was a better director!

Why flame you when it’s easier to point out that, aside from Italian gangster character, the two (three) films are as different as night and day? It’s very much an apples and oranges equestion.

I’ve said a few things about those eye roll characters, now that I think about it ...

Wasn't this announced as part of a Scorsese boxset also...which would include MEAN STREETS, AFTER HOURS, and other titles?? I remember that a long time ago. Hope it's still coming.

I happen to like Goodfellas and will be picking this up on release day

my beef was with the press release you would think that they would get the main characters name right in thier own movie, thats just plain laziness on the part of the writer

Marq I think you misunderstood me I wouldn't want to give you the wrong idea your assumption of my disliking of the disc was incorect.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A great movie, whether it's as good as the Godfathers or not, and it looks like this re-relase will contain a DVD-quality audio and video transfer. Good to see the Henry Hill commentary, and it'll be interesting to see what people make of it.

All in all...YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
