"Ghost Dad" is OOP

Just thought you should know.

Damn you Good Times Video! You should be called "Bad Times" video for pulling this stunt! Or maybe even "Very Bad Times" video!

Hopfully they will re-release it Anamorphic OAR, and none of this Fool Screen "Jive" (as the Cos would say). Can anyone say "Criterion Collection"?

Why must I have waited so long? Now I'll be stuck making $100+ bids on e-bay.

I'm such a fan, it's not even funny.

You can pry my Laser Disc copies from my cold, dead hands. Thank God I didn't sell 'em during the great Laser Disc sell off of '99.

For all who are interested, this little STEAL is going for $1 on e-bay!!!

Here is a bid link, for all who are inclined.

This makes me yearn for the days when I saw Ghost Dad in theaters. Ah, those were indeed the good ol' days.

I hear ya, bro! I still have my Ghost Dad ticket stub. I whip it out every now and again, especially when I need a taste of those golden days of yore.

Methinks you cheated. I saw Ghost Dad in theaters long before I started saving my ticket stubs. I remember my dad was the driving force behind us going to see it. The same dad who drove us to see Mr. Magoo. My name is Tim, and my father is movie-challenged.

Damy you,E-Bay. Damn you "Verry Very Bad Times that are forcing me to drink to subdue the pain you are currently causing me video" for cutting this DVD out.

I'm picking up The Osterman Weekend tonight...but I won't watch it...I'll be crying inside tonight...this has just torn me up.

Is there a support group? If so...LET ME IN,I BEG OF YOU.

Not for all the Jello Pudding Pops in Bill Cosby's fridge, my friend. That ticket, and my prized turbo Shriners Club funny car, are going with me to the grave.

The Turbo Shiners Club Funny Car in question. And yes, that's me dropping her into 3rd gear. I know I've aged terribly for a 30 year old... but that's what you get with an all pork-rinds and Tab Cola diet. I have no regrets.

If the picture were a little wider, you'd see that I was pulling a "Ghost Dad non-OAR = NO SALE!" Banner.

It should be noted that only the brilliance of Ghost Dad would draw the talents of Sidney Poitier (director) and Henry Mancini (music) together.

I remember seeing this in a cinema in Florida in 1990. I liked it.

Hey, you know what, fuck Ghost Dad. It isn't very often that I hate a movie, but I hate this one and as far as I can tell I have no reason to. Cosby is a great comedian, but I can't stand his films or his TV shows. Picture Pages is, of course, the exception.

Because Picture Pages is rad.

In spite of the recent Bill Cosby controversy, I regret to inform you all that Ghost Dad is still OOP.

Thanks for the tip. I have already emptied the Eastern Seaboard of this delightful Two Pack, and the Left Coast is next.

To the non-believers: laugh all you want... but when your Ghost Dad fix comes (and it comes HARD, let me tell you), you'll be writhing at BBJ's feet like a 2 cent crack-ho.

Where do you stand on LEONARD PART 6?

The Ipso Facto helmet, shameless plugs for Coke, melted butter!, "You thought you could fool me by switching it with dish washing fluid?", weird domestic subplots, and much, much more combine to make LEONARD one of the strangest, funniest bad movies I've ever seen.

I stand in awe of Leonard Part 6 (or "LP6" as it's known in the Jones Household). One of the all time most brilliantly terrible movies ever. A must-have, to be sure.

I head that a 3 disc Criterion Collection edition is coming in Fall 2004, complete with the controversial director's cut and an audio essay by both a Bill Cosby historian and a Jell-O Pudding afficionado.

All speculation, of course.

There's our proof. Now if Criterion would just release "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid" my life would be complete.

Not to brag, but I actually visited the set of "Leonard Part 6" in Berkeley, CA (sometime around 1987?). A friend was on the crew and I remember sitting in this weird camouflage Porsche with a tank gun mounted on top. I never did see it all the way through though (looked like a real loser and the friend had also worked on the infamous "Million Dollar Mystery" which wasn't exactly a hit!). I've always had a morbid curiosity of seeing "Leonard Part" since then.

And how could Portier/Cosby have been so good in "Uptown Saturday Night" and "Let's Do It Again" and yet have made "Ghost Dad?!"
