Minnesotans usually can get industry insider information pretty easily.

The movie just came out in theaters yesterday how can you know DVD release dates ALREADY?! You do know that the studio can change the date the DVD comes out at any time for no reason. It could be a tentative release date but who knows. Maybe Van Helsing will come out on DVD in time for the Christmas rush?

ugh, the theater to dvd release is getting shorter all the time, and around halloween seems to be perfect to me. I understand it's tentative, but i'm pretty sure they're not going to change it, unless they're fuckin stupid.

DVD File is posting a $54m take for Van Helsing's opening:
http://www.dvdfile.com/news/sales_st...ice/index.html Now, they say these are disappointing numbers for Universal. BUT, given the very poor reviews and awful word of mouth this has been picking up, I was surprised at $54m! I was thinking a limper take in the $30ms, so this is actually pretty good! Whats up with that? And it'll probably take that again during the week. Half their budget back in a week - not bad. What are they complaining about? Could have been much much worse...

I just saw Van helsing last week (yeah, well better late then never)
and i loved it, yes its never gonna win best screenplay, but it was full of action. it reminded me of LXG, in that the story was pretty standard, but the action and effects more then made up for it As long as universal can get there acts together, its gonna be one hell of a great DVD |

DVDAnswers is reporting that Van Helsing is getting a 3-week delay and will now be released on October 19. Maybe this is a sign that even more goodies will be on the disc, but we'll see in October I guess.

ahhh, what the FUCK...I have noticed on dvdanswers.com and other sources that many of these studios keep changing release dates, for instance van helsing was oct. 19th originally to sep. 28, now back to the 19th. I've noticed this w/ van helsing, walking tall, and a couple other titles.
What's wrong w/ these fucking studios giving us false hopes! |

from dvdanswers.com
Universal has announced Van Helsing which stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale. The film will be available to own in both single disc and three-disc ultimate editions from the 19th October this year. The single disc will retail at around $29.98. The price of the three-disc set has yet to be determined. Both will feature an anamorphic widescreen transfer as well as an English Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby 2.0 Surround and Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0 track. On top of all the extra material on the three-disc set, the package will also include the recent releases of Dracula (1931), Frankenstein and The Wolf Man. The single disc set will include the commentaries, along with the 360 Degree Tour, outtakes, a Bringing the Monsters to Life featurette, the You Are In The Movie feature and a Legend Of Van Helsing featurette. The full specs for the three-disc edition are attached below, along with the artwork and menu shots: 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen Presentation English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Track French Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo Surround Track Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo Surround Track Commentary with Director Stephen Sommers and the Producer Commentary by Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale, Richard Roxburgh & Shuler Hensley Filmmaker’s Diary: Chronicling One Week of Production New World Technology vs. Old World Monsters Featurette Designing Van Helsing: A 360-degree IPIX Tour of the Sets Van Helsing: The Story, The Life, The Legend Love Bites: The Brides of Dracula Mockumentary You Are in the Movie On-Location Featurette Anatomy of a Scene: The Masquerade Ball Creating the Characters and Monsters Interactive Featurette Van Helsing’s Monster Map Interactive Featurette Van Helsing Time Lapse Footage of Sets being Built, Filmed and Torn Down Play The Van Helsing XBox Game (On the XBox Console Only) Selection of Van Helsing Outtakes English, French & Spanish Subtitles its good to the the single disc isn't barebones afterall. if the talk is true and the srp of the 3 disc is $54.99, then the single disc is probably the way to go despite the crappy artwork.
