This is surprising to see this in a keepcase, i was certain we would see the film in a snapper cause Warner Brothers does this, hopefully they will stay with the keepcases, but they need to put inserts, sucks there is none for the Spartan DVD but maybe other copies will have one, we'll have to see.

Thanks for the thread.!

If you get a chance, give us a review of the commentary.

I was one of the few people on the planet fortunate enough to have seen this in the cinema earlier in the year. Great film.
After years of high profile flops like The Saint and Red Planet it looks like Kilmer's better suited for small Indie style films like Wonderland, The Salton Sea and Spartan.

One of the great things about Warner's snapper cases are (were?) the guarantee of a nice insert page/ chapter listing on the other side of the fold-out front cover. Of course, their constant use of original poster art is fantastic as well. I welcome a move to keep cases, but was never too hate-filled towards the snapper as some others.

Thanks for this preview Moonraker, I'm almost certain to buy it.

Given how poorly Spartan did at the Box Office I'm surprised Warners didn't redo the cover art. Pretty balsy of them to go with the original theatrical artwork. Thought for sure it would be a big picture of Kilmer's face.

They pretty much always stick with the original art (Ocean's Eleven was a rare case where they didn't).

I am glad they did stick with the normal art. I absolutely loathe the posters where they just stick all the actors up in a line and then put the title up. What a boring poster and it is so common these days. Although this isn't the best poster, it certainly is original and interesting.
I saw this film in theaters and thought it was Mamet's worst yet. I am a huge fan of Mamet and this seemed so mainstream. The best part of the movie was the beginning where we had no idea what was going on. But by the end it just was a normal thriller. I hope Mamet's next film goes back to more like his earlier stuff.

*Makes room for another addition to ever increasing Val Kilmer collection*

Thanks for that Moonraker - can't wait for my copy of this to arrive, i particulary like the cover art and can't wait to hear the Kilmer commentary.

I watched Spartan last night and thought it was excellent. Weird how movies like this totally fly under the radar. I never saw a trailer for this, and I wouldn't have even known it existed if I hadn't heard a brief review on the radio. I will recommend it to all.

I'm just wondering, is that including Heist?

I just rented this last night, it was great. Kind of confusing in some parts, but a really good movie. The only reason I didn't see this at the theatre is because the time was incorrectly published as 170 instead of 107 minutes. Good movie though, worth a buy later on.
