Rounders SE in September?
Davisdvd.com is listing a Rounders SE for 9/7. Has anyone heard anything on this? This is one the very first DVDs I bought and I've always thought it is quite good.
Maybe the recent televised poker craze prompted a special edition. I just hope it includes some quality supplements or I might not upgrade my copy.

This would be great if it is true! Rounders is the only movie I own on VHS. I love this movie but never bought the DVD because I want a better transfer. I hope the supplements aren't space wasters like "How To Be A Great Poker Player".

Finally!! I've been waiting and hoping for this to happen.
I just did some searching, and the writer, Brian Koppelman posted a message on rec.gambling.poker that Miramax is working on a SE release. His message, posted on May 23rd: Quote:
Personally I'd love for a commentary from some poker pros as well as people involved in the production.

I hope it's true. Rounders was the very first DVD I bought. I'd upgade in a minute so long as the new SE has an anamorphic widescreen transfer rather then the non-anamorphic one on the current release.

Great news. The non-anamorphic transfer has kept me from buying this despite the huge price drop. Further proof that a huge price drop may indicate a new release in the near future.
One of Edward Norton's better movies IMO. |

I had almost bought this a few months ago at a whopping $24.99 at Tower.
After getting a 16:9 set I am VERY hesitant to buy any non-anamorphic titles. Come on, it's 2003 (ooops, 2004) there is no reason for a WS title to NOT be anamorphically enhanced. Also big titles that have been preiovously released (cough- Cameron-cough) need anamorphic SE reissues. Didn't see a Rounders SE on Amazon or it's Coming Soon sister site. -Flash
