cannes and sundance

SUndance is not small time tho, i gave us alot of great films and directors over the years. Im not sure what the top prize is at each is called, but does anyone have any best picture dvd's from any year from either of these two festivals?

Nope. It's a festival where many films make their from all over the world (not just Europe) are screened (most are for the first time). Out of a selected group of films in "competition", awards are given by a jury of film "experts" (this year's jury was headed by Quentin Tarantino), with a top prize called the Palme d'Or given to what they felt was the best film of that batch (this year "Fahrenheit 9/11" from the U.S. won).

As asphodel mentioned we have indeed done a very recent thread on this topic, specific to Cannes Palme d'Or winners, started by ME!
A list of Sundance top-prize (Grand Jury Prize) winners can be found here: http://www.imdb.com/Sections/Awards/...Film_Festival/ . For an example of all the awards given to films (documentary and dramatic) at Sundance, here's an outline of how all the awards went for the 2004 festival: http://www.imdb.com/Sections/Awards/..._Festival/2004

There are dozens of awards given to several films at each festival.

Now to promote my home country agenda, it could be noted that the Toronto Film Festival is probably the 3rd largest film festival:

Other big 'n important fests include:
- Venice Film Festival
- Berlin International Film Festival
- International Film Festival Rotterdam
