I'm buying two: A Woman is a Woman (one of my favorite Godards) and The Lower Depths. I considered renting the double feature, but
1- Netflix isn't listing it. 2- I planned on buying it eventually So, why wait? I'll rent Mamma Roma (Pasolini is hit or miss for me), the HVE Japanese releases (Bloody Territories and Stray Cat Rock: Sex Hunter), the Lost Skeleton and the Secret Window. I was under the impression that some other Merchant Ivory discs are coming out. I haven't heard the best things about the films, so I won't cry over a delay.

Oh, my God, PEOPLE!!!! I can't believe this pipe dream has come true, and I can't believe NO ONE ELSE IS PLANNING TO BUY...
NIGHT PATROL!!!!!! This movie is genius! One of the worst movies EVER MADE, starring Murray Langston, aka THE UNKNOWN COMIC, as put-upon beat cop (partnered with Pat Paulsen, no less) who spends his nights in LA's nightclub doing standup with a paper bag on his head!!!! It's so unbelievably sleazy, raunchy, gross, and mean-spirited -- an 80s masterpiece. In one movie, you get... THE UNKNOWN COMIC ANDREW DICE CLAY LINDA BLAIR SUBTITLES FOR NO REASON PAT MORITA PLAYING A WOMAN!!! THANK YOU, ANCHOR BAY!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!! |
