Burning dvds? (i want to make a trailers dvd)

I want to take all the trailers from the dvds that I own and burn them on one dvd. However I don't know how, I just bought the dvd writer. How could I find the file that is the trailer in each dvd? thanx

I think any application you use to do that probably violates copyright laws even though you're only going after trailers so I don't think it's something we can discuss here.
I may be wrong though.

There shouldn't be any violation here as he is copying from discs he owns. There is no difference from this or say iTunes. Copying tracks you want and editing your own lists and then burning them.

This is still something that's being debated by the powers-that-be within the industry but any application you use to get the trailers would certainly allow you to "get more". Since this one is sorta "on the fence" I want to find out if the admins will allow the discussion to continue or not.

any CD-burner would allow you to illegal mp3 files. Doesn't mean the devices are intended for, or promote bootlegging.

Not starting an argument, just chiming in with my thoughts.

Sure but until recently commercial audio CD's didn't have a built in encryption. DVD's do, so any application you use to grab something from the disc would have to be able to decrypt it. (Honestly I'm not certain if the entire disc is encrypted or just the movie itself)

Sorry DVDLover, even though what you want to do sounds innocent enough, this is a corporate site so we need to be cautious when it comes to these sorts of discussions.
I'm going to have to close the thread.
