Angel Heart: SE; Is it unrated?

I can't find this one bit of info on any of the reviews, but is the SE the Unrated version of the film?

It is the theatrical cut of the film- no new scenes added. The extras as usual are unrated.

Actually I've heard that it is the unrated version. Some dude on the IMDB message board stated it was definitely the unrated version. Take that for what it's worth. Personally, I would assume it's the unrated version since the old release was unrated.

I rented the new disc a few days ago. I can't "officially" confirm that it was an unrated cut. For one thing, it was my first viewing. Second, I didn't know that there were multiple cuts. I already mailed it back or I would have taken some screen captures to confirm, but the sex scene was rather graphic, so I imagine that it was the uncut version. Again, without knowing what shots would clearly confirm it as unrated, I can't authenticate it. I tried IMDB's alt. versions section, but that was no help. If anyone can remember any of the full version's specifics, I'll try to confirm or deny whether I saw them.

I'm glad to report that the theatrical release sex scenes were very graphic, too.

There was never really an 'Unrated' version of Angel Heart, the original version was rated X, and Parker trimmed the sex scene with Rourke and Bonet by a mere few seconds (maybe as long as 10 secs) to get an R rating. Every version of the movie that had been released for home video has been the X version as far as I know. I saw the Theatrical version a few times and I remember when I saw the home video version there wasn't alot added, I think the bit where Bonet arches her back whilst straddling Rourke was put back and maybe a few extra seconds of him pounding away at her where she is screaming and blood is falling on them was added but nothing more. The audio commentary may provide a bit more insight into this, has anyone listened to it yet?
