Most Deleted Scenes?

I was watching "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back" for the first time the other night (Yeah, I know, a little late). Anyways, after the movie was over, I popped in disc 2 and discovered 42 Deleted/Alternate Scenes!!! This is by far the most I have ever seen on a disc. Which movies have the most?

Were they real deleted scenes or just 2 seconds of stuff cut out of existing scenes?

I can't remember exactly how many deleted scenes there were, but the ones from the Dogma SE totaled around 100 minutes.

Spinal Tap has about 78 minutes of deleted scenes in it. I don't think I have anything in my collection that tops that. They're almost as long as the movie itself.

It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World has around an hour of extra/extended scenes on the DVD.

I'd say Smith's films and Spinal Tap are up there. All of Chris Guest's films have around a half hour on their discs, but doesn't Kevin Smith know when to stop shooting??

Nixon has (in the neighborhood of) an hour of deleted scenes.

There are about 35 minutes of deleted scenes on the Hannibal dvd (though some of those are alternate/extended scenes), and more that are not on the DVD, but are included in the network television version (which runs 3 hours without commercials, up from 2 hours and 11 minutes for the theatrical version).

It aired over two nights on CBS sometime in 2003.

I'm sure this doesn't come anywhere near those mentioned, but Disturbing Behavior has a lot of deleted scenes, and you have to wonder hat the director was smoking, as they were all better scenes than those in the final product.

Season 2 of 24 had something like 44 deleted scenes. Don't know what the total runtime was of them though.

The thing about the deleted scenes on the Smith discs is that they may advertise "100 minutes of deleted scenes!" on the box, but when you take away all of the rambling, on-screen introductions by Smith and others (honestly, how self-indulgent is it to have a four-minute intro to a 40-second deleted scene fragment? ), you're left with maybe 40 minutes, and of those, many are just slightly extended versions of scenes already in the movies. I'm more interested in deleted scenes that are actual, complete scenes that were axed, rather than longer versions of scenes that were shortened for pacing or ratings issues.

That said, there's about 30 minutes of cut footage on the Criterion Traffic disc, and an equal amount on the Erin Brockovich DVD (Steven Soderbergh tends to be very generous with deleted scenes).

If you add the deleted scenes from the Criterion set that don't appear on the MGM one, you get at least two hours of cut footage! If you combined these with the original movie, you'd get almost a three and a half hour version of "Spinal Tap"!
