Howards End

hello, i recall about two years ago, this title was going to come out under the criterion banner, that was totally true as well, i saw it in the list of upcoming criterion titles on that white list of numbered Criterion titles that comes with the Criterion dvd's, it was in the coming next year section i think, but its been a year past that and nothing, and i really dont see it coming out anytime this year, so i guess its going on two years later, anyone hear anything about this one?

I thought Howard's End was going to be part of the Merchant Ivory Collection via Criterion.

The disc i thought was announced, but I can't recall much about it.

but then again, Sony owns the distribution rights in the US,
and the current barebones DVD is out of print.

Is Sony doing a 'special edition' or what? anyone?

I recall seeing "Howards End" on a catalog insert from a Criterion DVD I bought a couple of years ago. I've heard nothing since then. It was never announced as a part of the Merchant Ivory Collection. I hope a special edition comes out at some point (and please let Emma Thompson participate in a commentary...her contribution to the commentary on "Sense and Sensibility" is invaluable).

Incidently, ten years ago Criterion announced a laserdisc edition of "HE" that never came to be. Perhaps history is repeating itself

True that a special edition has been delayed,
but on www.dvdaficionado.com if you type in "Merchant Ivory"
as a search, all the Merchant Ivory Collection releases come up,
INCLUDING "Howards End: Merchant Ivory Collection", but no release date.
