Pardon the pun, but -
HELL yes! I've had this set for a while now and its amazing. I read somewhere if they put just 3 more minutes of bonus material on it, it would have required 3 discs. I'm not even half-way through disc 2 yet. This is all well and good, UNLESS you feel the need to wait for the confirmed directors cut. If it turns out to be amazing, then i'll buy it as well, but for only 15mins extra footage, it doesnt seem worth it to me.

This is a very nice set as shofukamatchi mentioned. Plus, this has to be one of Columbia/TriStar's better transfers...for not being a SuperBit title.

2 disc price? I bought it at Best Buy for $15. It was worth every penny, and I'm planning to pick up the three disc version when it comes out.

I rented Hellboy last weekend, and it is indeed one very extensive DVD set. 2 commentary tracks (both very entertaining), 2.5 hours of behind-the-scenes stuff, 2 theatrical trailers and several TV spots, numerous storyboards and animatics, 3-D models of maquettes used for CGI special effects, and even text biographies and origins of the characters also, which was actually helpful and informative in providing more in-depth background to viewers not familiar with the Hellboy story.
Did anyone else notice that Abe Sapien's voice throughout the whole movie was redubbed by David Hyde-Pierce, who is best known as Niles Crane on the Frasier TV show? His name isn't in the credits, and he's obviously not the actor who plays the character in the makeup, but it was clearly his voice being used in the final dub of the movie. It was briefly mentioned in one of the behind-the-scenes featurettes that was the voice of a characer was completely redone in post-production but not specifically mentioned. This was confirmed in both commentary tracks, though, once by Guillermo del Toro in the director's commentary track, and then by Selma Blair in the actors' commentary track. If you enjoyed the movie, you'll really enjoy this DVD set. I look forward to getting the 3-disc set when it comes out.
