Sequel to Rounders: What's the chance of it happening?

With the rise in popularity of gambling, namely poker playing and Texas Hold 'Em, do you think another Rounders move (maybe a sequel) will be made? Do you think Matt Damon would return?

Peace...

No chance.

We could see another movie dealing with Poker but no chance of a Rounders sequel.

I don't see a sequel happening, but you never know. I could foresee a poker movie being made, though.

While it has probably slipped under many people's radar, a movie I had never heard of "Shade" came out on DVD a few weeks back. It is actually quite good with topnotch actors and performances. There is a feature about slight of hand that is fantastic.
Only problem is that the movie is so little known that it hasn't hit the cheap bins yet and wasn't a big enough release to warrant a price discount upon first week of release. Oh and it is in a snapper.
I will pick it up for sure when the price drops on it a bit.

Was Rounders succesful enough to justify a sequel? I know a lot of times that doesn't mean anything but I didn't enjoy the movie at all nor did a lot of my friends who saw it.

Maybe a movie about players heading to a World Series of Poker. I can't see a movie about exclusively Poker could be very successful. Even Maverick and Rounders had very little poker in ratio to other things.

As successful as the cable shows are, they are watched because TV is free and easy. I doubt all of those same people would get up, leave the house, and pay money to watch a movie about it.

It had a very short, quiet run at the box office, and didn't make a whole hell of a lot of money ($23 million). I'm sure it has had a very respectable run on home video, but it doesn't seem to be the phenominal video hit that would justify a sequel. However, stranger things have happened. Both Matt Damon and Ed Norton have become bigger stars since 1998 (Damon must be exceptionally bankable right now), so you never know.

Can Mike keep Julie in line? Will she win the big Tournament? Find out in this very exciting sequal to Rounders, coming this fall to a landfill near you.

Now, can you also imitate that guy's voice who narrates the trailers?

I bought Rounders blind. I almost fell asleep after the first shuffle. I loved the cast, but I guess card films are not for me.

In my oponion, the reason why you guys dont like the film is because you guys cant relate to what is being said and what the story is about. When I first saw it, I didnt know how to play poker and I didnt think much of it. But recently now that I have been playing, I can relate to everything they say in the movie and relate to their losses and the after effects of it. But that's me and everyone has their oponion.

Did your learning about poker make watching the movie that more enjoyable for you?

Peace...

I wish they would make a sequel to Rounders.

I love that movie, one of my all time favorites.
