Highwaymen
I was just recently reminded of this film today in the video store when I saw the cover on a poster with the months releases. Its got huge head on the cover, hardly leaving enough room for the title. After not hearing a single peep about this film and its very limited release if at all by New Line, its coming this month. I cant seem to find the cover or specs but I have found the pre-order at DVDEmpire..

Well dont wanna blind buy it? Dont wanna rent it?! So watch it on tv.. Heres the news from Creature-Corner..
"Shortly after its release on DVD August 24th, Robert Harmon's Highwaymen will air on TNT on the 27th at 10pm. That's about the strangest move I've ever seen a studio make. When you look at the film's history, though, New Line hasn't been too kind to the film. Highwaymen faced many delays before it was dumped into a very limited theatrical run. Hell, it was all but isolated to southwestern theaters only. I would not have known about the film's television debut had I not been flipping through the August 22-28th issue of the TV Guide. They actually spotlight its airing. Now, the question is: Is Highwaymen worth all the chatter? I've never seen it but I've heard a lot of negative response. Regardless, I thought this was all pretty interesting and had to let ya know." |

i saw the trailer for this in the theater multiple times. i kept thinking it was going to be the punisher (it was before that came out).
But never once was it at the theater when it was released... or was it released theatrically?

I remember seeing seeing a trailer for this before Freddy vs. Jason and knew I wanted to see it. Why didn't it ever come out? You figure with Jim being Christ, they could've put that into the promotions somehow.
Oh well, should be a good rental.

i saw it, and i have to say I really enjoyed it. It is on the short side at 1 hour 20 min, but I think it is beautifully shot and the story was good
Even though i'm sure many will disagree, but whatever, i don't care what other people think of it, so choke on that BOO YAH! ![]() |

yeah, I found it to maintain it's suspense very well. I like the fact that no one speaks up until the 8 minute mark. The director really does a good job to let the scene tell the story.
I wanted to see this since the trailer, then I heard the critics bash it...this just goes to show, if you think a movie looks good, see it for yourself and don't let other people make the decision for you! Just like music, no one else can tell you what is good and what isn't, you have to decide for yourself and your own preferences! Good Day, Clayton |

Agree with both of you. Very stylish director, and hey, THE HITCHER was amazing. Robert Harmon was responding to fans comments on imdb.com on the HIGHWAYMEN listing.

I caught the TNT airing of the movie on Friday, and I enjoyed it. It had a very Mad Max type of feel to it, with the Barracuda and Cadillac vehicles that the hero and bad guy were driving. The car chase scenes were among the better ones I've seen in film.
