Predator CE Movie Ticket Offer Caution

I hear on other boards around that some of the Predator CE dvds that street today may not include the free movie voucher if the package is not labeled as including one. If you want the voucher and happpen to see a copy that is not labeled as such you may want to look elsewhere.

My copy WAS labeled, but it did not have the free movie ticket inside.

I am on the phone right now with Target trying to see if they have any more copies left (there were only two left on the shelf when I bought mine).

I put this down to a "glitch" in production, so posted about it here. Maybe that wasn't the best place for it?

Mine had both the sticker on the outside and the ticket inside.

I almost thought it didn't. The ticket flyer is folded into fourths and is almost identical in color to the DVD case. Look under the flap as the folded ticket is almost small enough to hide totally behind the flap to hold the regular insert.

At first glance I thought I didn't have a ticket either.

So everyone double check before you go rip the B&M retailer a new one for jippin' ya on the ticket.

Of course some peole are just tring to scam the retailer for two tickets.
In the future I recommend anyone buying a DVD with a free movie ticket offer inside to open it right there in the store and check before you leave the store, but after going thru the checkout line. Because after a while I presume retailers will not honor the "but mine didn't have the free ticket inside" return/exchange excuse.

OK, I'm not the only one then. I guess that's why Circuit City here pulled all of the Widescreen. Oddly enough, I know two people who bought fullscreen versions while we were there (don't ask, I don't care to explain it to them again) and both of theirs had tickets in them.

Any official word from 20th Century Fox about this? Most places around here only seem to have the full screen ones out. Probably because they didn't screw them up.

I'm in PA just outside of Philly.

I can't get this until Friday, and I damn well better be able to find Widescreen and a ticket...

FWIW - I ended up getting mine at Target and that one had no ticket in it.

This sucks. I'm wasting gas at this point.

I picked up mine at Best Buy tonight. It had the ticket label on the packaging but no ticket inside. I'll try exchanging it tomorrow and see what happens.

Claiming the DVD didn't have Free Movie Pass. How do stores handle this?

Does anybody know if FOX is doing anything about this?

It seems a lot of people are getting screwed.

I got my ticket(A&B Sound in Canada). It was kinda hidden but it was there. They have to get rid of these digipacks(mine is fine - but eventually it will fail on me). Anyway this is a great SE now we need Commando and True Lies SE's which i'm praying for.

Well mine had a ticket, but if it didn't I would just make-up something about the audio or video being messed up. I don't know if they would exchange it if you stated there is no ticket because there is nothing wrong with actual product.

If you really want to be a con-man about it, scratch the disk a few times in a subtle way and tell them that's how it looked when you opened it, and the disk was loose. There isn't really much they can argue with there.

I don't think you'll have a problem no matter what though. I returned a few discs for authoring problems and no one second guessed me... shit, I returned NYPD Blue season 1 because there was a tear in the packaging... no problems.

Target is aware of the problem. I called today and they told me to hang onto the box set as there is nothing wrong with it. They are expecting more in today and will simply open them and call me so I can come pick up my ticket.

They were really cool about it. I'm sure there will be some asses who claim they didn't get it so they can get a second movie pass, but Fox should take the hit, not Target since it wasn't their screw up.

Came back from Best Buy with a movie ticket in hand

Customer service gave me a little static since I had obviously opened the DVD and there were no more widescreen copies. But the clerk said to go find someone in the DVD section and see what they wanted to do. I did and they just found a fullscreen copy, opened it up, and gave me the ticket.

Went to Target last night (different from one than I had purchased the DVD at originally... they had NO copies left at all). The lady at customer service was very nice, but at first she suggested holding on to my DVD set until the problem is corrected since all of their copies appeared to be missing the ticket as well. I explained that the movie opens this weekend and that buying the DVD now instead of in a few weeks was because it came with a ticket for a movie I planned to see THIS week. The manager who was standing neaby heard this told her to just give me a refund and send the DVD back as defective. So, she did. We then all joked how Fox should just send a stack of free ticket vouchers to all the Target stores to hand out at thier leisure. Everybody laughed and then we left.

I went to Walmart to buy it (at someone's suggestion in this thread), but it was not on sale nor price matched there. Also, the DVD department would not let me open it either. So, we went to customer service to resolve this. My wife explained the "no ticket inside the sealed package" problem to the Walmart customer service lady while I ran out to the car to get the Target ad for the price match. When I came back the DVD was opened and she was holding the movie ticket in hand!!!

I am satisfied now.

I picked up a copy today of the Predator CE at my local Target store, and I opened it up in the parking lot to make sure it had the free movie ticket, and it did.

FYI, they were selling only the widescreen version, so no possible confusion of accidentally picking up a fullscreen copy.

Maybe he just got back from seeing AVP and realized he would've been better off w/o the free ticket.

I got the last Widescreen copy at the Pittsburgh Best Buy, seriously, and it did have the ticket inside. Score! The movie was pretty campy, but for free, fuck it...

Aw, it wasn't that bad. For free, I'd say I got my money's worth.
